WOW! What a shocker.

Did you say... 'shocker'? (j/k)

Yeah... I totally wasn't expecting him to take himself out like that. So sad... and morbid. I would've tried to find another way.

The story about the girl coming back from the war alive... now THAT'S interesting.

My problem with the whole "Al kills himself to save some unknown woman and change his future" thing is.... the letter he wrote to her, which they read out loud and showed on the screen a number of times, starts out with, "I don't know your last name or where you live" -- and yet, somehow he managed to get the letter delivered by a postman?? Um, HOW??

It's things like that, little continuity issues, that drive me nuts.

I agree totally. No way they would have found her....It didn't make sense?
Her tossing the lingerie tonight seemed sensible. But, somehow I bet that story will all come true...

ok, i just started watching this, overall I like the show. At moments it seems a bit forced however. I will give it some time for chemistry to build up.
Dude! It's about time you showed up. :D

As far as it being forced, I think it's because it's not planned for more than one season.

:p

by forced I mean the character interactions, although the Fiennes character is played very well, as is Sonya Wagner's part, and Simco (sp?).

I really can't see the premise lasting longer than a season.

Apart from Lost, this is about the only show that actually holds my interest these days.

It is a tv version of a book from some years back of the same name. In the book, the 'Flash Forwards' were set something like thirty years in the future. (The protagonists were almost all scientiests working at CERN).

I don't really see this series last more than one season - possibly two if the writers get very creative.

My main interest now is - what did the bad guys gain by initiating the global blackout?

The other thing, which bothered me from the first episode, was - Why didn't the investigators start questioning the people involved in high level physics experiments right at the very outset? I mean, if something like this was man made, then at a minimum these people would either have a clue as to the mechanics of how it was done, or possibly be directly involved in bringing it about.

We've caught up, were able to watch a show that recapped the first part of the season. I'm sure we missed some stuff, but we have the gist. We also watched the show before this new 2 part one.

Well, our friend (Charlie)Simon certainly has quite a role in all of this, doesn't he! Interesting twists...and also don't know how they can keep the show going past one or two seasons.

I'm watching! We finally watched the two hour episode last week, and I was very surprised at some of the twists and turns - like Simon working with the guy who cut off his finger, and that guy being Simon's uncle. Head spinning.

Yeah, that was creepy. Can't quite figure out what to make of Simon with his little smirks all the time.

And...was he trying to get that woman (sorry I'm still learning names...the FBI agent) to go get him a beer because he knew he would be kidnapped, or was that a surprise to him too?

As with Lost, I leave the room on any torture scenes! :swoon:

Then you missed a fair bit last time. You should have caught everything this time around, though. I find it difficult to believe that the head of a mercenary army would actually let somebody he did not know into his house, though, and then let that guy make a threat and walk out the door alive. Nor can I imagine such a person being stupid enough (as this guy was) to place a call for a 'hit' immediately afterwards.

(There were some real world allegations that some people with dirt on BlackWater came to untimely ends not that long ago).

At least now we have a real name for 'D. Gibbons' though. One thing about this, though: this character apparently managed a large chunk of this, not through his own understanding, but by stealing the work of others. This has the potential to blow up in his face big time - which might have been the case if the Blackout was only supposed to be a local event - effecting only Detroit and the surrounding area. This guy isn't just playing with fire, he's juggling lit sticks of dynamite.

I'm still watching it. I've heard back and forth about it being canceled. The way its going...yes, they could do a credible interesting ending in just two episodes. In any event, even if it was not canceled this time around, I didn't see it lasting more than another season anyhow. Still...with Lost gone for good in just a week, maybe some desperate executive will bring it back next season for a 'filler'.

What strikes me here is the time travel aspect of Flash Forward works much the same way as Lost - the future is almost, but not quite 'set in stone', as it were. You can avoid fate on one day...only to have it catch up to you the next day or the day after. Decisively changing or 'splitting' the future takes huge effort.

I figure that we can hold the Flash Forward official thread here in the LOST sub-forum since the show has cast two of LOST's alumni.

(Penelope Widmore is now Dr. Olivia Benford and Charlie Pace is now "Simon")

So, who watched the premiere last night? Did you like it? I did!!!

The show started off slow for me but as I learned more about the mysteries I am getting into it. Now they say it is canceled. Is this true? Are there any good creative writers out there? If there is no ending can we start a fan fiction story about how we would like it to end? TV has canceled a few of my favorite shows with no ending. That stinks.
