Think about this and give me more than a ready-made answer. What is it about God that draws you to Him?
What draws me is His righteousnesses. I don't like to hang out with creeps, so I guess that is what attracts me.
Disclaimer: Yes we (Catholics) know it's all His grace and not our own that draws us but there is a response on our part and that response to grace is what we are discussing.

That's interesting. I hadn't thought about that, but I guess one of the reasons I like God is also the fact that He is perfect. Sometimes it's easy to be cynical of people and their motives, but because of His extreme holiness God is completely trustworthy. He is a solid Rock that is always true, and that is comforting in a world where even saints sin. That trustworthiness also applies to our whole sanctified family in heaven, a fact which is just as cool. God and His Saints will never let you down.
One of the main reasons I love God is that He is the King of the entire universe. But unlike any worldly king, He's got everything in the palm of His hand, He is infinitely wiser, more strategic, more noble, and more powerful. His name has more glory and honor. His army is vast and unstoppable. I feel safe and secure knowing God is on the throne, and I feel proud of God if that makes sense. Sometimes He seems to be like a superhero.
That's interesting. I hadn't thought about that, but I guess one of the reasons I like God is also the fact that He is perfect. Sometimes it's easy to be cynical of people and their motives, but because of His extreme holiness God is completely trustworthy. He is a solid Rock that is always true, and that is comforting in a world where even saints sin. That trustworthiness also applies to our whole sanctified family in heaven, a fact which is just as cool. God and His Saints will never let you down.

Love is for the self of another. False love is for another's work, power, or appearance. Because God is Himself Love and love cannot but love us first, so we love God for loving us first, and that is love for His Self. The invisibility of God makes it so we cannot love Him for His Face, and the mystery of God's work makes it so we cannot love Him for His Work, and the infinity of His omnipotence makes it so we cannot love Him for His Power; yet we do love what is His because it is good because it is His - He being All-Good, Goodness Itself, His Own Goodness - yet this dose not diminish our love for God as God and King but rather fills us with greater love for Him. In this messianic age we see God and know His work and power in Jesus, so we can be tempted to false love, but the Spirit of God keeps us in love and makes us go from love to love, filling us with greater love for Him, and so, one could say our love for God is greater than the Israelites' love for God, because they did not have what we have: Namely, the Son and the Spirit. Though they did have the Spirit (for example, the pillar of fire in the desert), they did not have Him dwelling within them.

I think we love God because he made us, and for lack of a better word, we are "programed" with a desire to be with the One who made us. Thats why so many people are searching so hard for happiness in worldly things and cant find it.

Not sure on the main reason, but I do know one of the biggest is that He is unconditional love, something sorely lacking anywhere else.

I dont know why I love God.
I dont know how much I love God. God at this time is competing for my love,,with other things,,like a Goddess. The craft,,and a few other things.
But he seems to be the one closest to me when I am hurting,,and I seem
to turn to him a lot when I am down. But I feel close to a Goddess too,,I have a love for her,,and it is hard to embrace christian ideas,,especially when I see how some behave.
How do I measure my love for God? I know the bible says if you love me(Jesus) you will keep my comandments. How good a job am I doing? Not to good right now.
Only God can look into my heart and see how much I love him,,or how little. I do believe Gods love is connected to loving others,,how a person can claim to love God,,and not others,,to me seems wrong. Maybe a measure of a mans love for God is seen in his love for others,and for the words Jesus gave to us,,which we have ,,the bible.
I cant say I love the bible,,too much in it I dont understand.

I'm a person with high moral standards, not saying I'm perfect or live up to the ideal all the time because I don't, but I do have high moral standards and that's why I like God, He has high moral standards too.Thank you for the answers.

I was just thinking about your post, and I thought, - do you ever pray to Our Lady? Because Mary is not a goddess, and she brings us closer to Jesus, not further from Him, - and sometimes when people struggle with their faith they find it easier to pray to her and she helps them how do you feel about the Rosary?God bless!
