One has to wonder why you didnt use the DSM IV TR to define paraphiliasFrom the Wiki, since we're using wiki today -
feelings of having inhibited rights = distressing. suffering hate crimes = serious problems. Being denied "visitation rights" = distressing. Sex with same sex partner = sexual arousal to individuals that are not part of normative stimulation.
and here is the DSM IV TR criteria for paraphilia:
recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors generally involving, 1. nonhuman objects; 2. suffering or humiliation of oneself or one's partner; or 3. children or other non-consenting persons, that occur over a period of at ≥ 6 months. The behavior, sexual urges, or fantasies cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning."
Maybe because homosexuality obviously doesnt fit the criteria for a paraphilia
