This is my thread to remind us to pray for these Christian Leaders who have stumbled , been persecuted , battered and bruised.
Just in case you read this Todd. We still love you Todd. My wife and I are praying for you.

Todd pours out his heart.....

I pray that God will protect the church from false teachers (like Todd Bentley); and that God would give the church discernment to understand that just because someone claims to a be Christian, and holds experiential meetings, does not make them a Christian.

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect--if that were possible. Mark 13:22 NIV

HOLY Smokes....a thread to PRAY for a person and in comes condemnation? May I ask who told you that he isn't a Christian? YOU are ASSUMING. You don't know for sure. Has he made mistakes? YES..just like the rest of us...does he need to repent, YES, like the rest of us. He ain't any better or worse than any ONE of us...unless ya'll think you're perfect.

Faulty,

If you genuinely believe he is not a Christian, and you clearly have enough free time to pen a note ABOUT him, have you shared the gospel with him? Have you emailed him about the love of Christ and about Jesus paying the full price for every sin he has ever committed and ever will committ?

TB’s theatrical “repentance” is reminiscent of Jimmy Swaggart’s infamous “repentance” clip and, like his, seems a little late in coming. An apology AFTER you’re caught with your pants down and in an attempt to regain stage presence and prominence reeks of being disingenuous. Personally, I would like to see some “fruits meet for repentance” before he is elevated to celebrity status again—a rather undeserved admiration as it turned out. Maybe working under a pastor in a little church for a few years, cleaning toilets and sweeping floors rather than performing on a stage before a video camera, would be in order.

Anyhow, I am not TB groupie and he is not on my radar. I have a long, long list of other people I am praying for.

wow. you won't pray for a fellow bro who so obviously needs it? Hm..ok.

Correct. And I make no apologies for it. I cannot pray for everybody and so I pray for people I know, whose problems I am familiar with and whose needs are far more desperate than Bentley’s.

I cannot add every celebrity to my prayer list and will let their groupies pray for them, including TB's, even though they do not know him any better than I do. If we would pray for our own world instead of the make-believe edited and polished world we are spoon-fed on our TV screens we would see more done in the world we actually live in. IMO.

fair enough. I just say a general prayer. I don't make it a habit of continual prayer. But just that God would give Todd (as in this example) a revelation of His love and turn his heart towards repentance. I think he has somewhat...but there is always room for improvement in all of us.

You do realize that in the time it took you to type this post, you could have said a short prayer for TB, right?

and that God would give the church discernment to understand that just because someone claims to a be Christian, and holds experiential meetings, does not make them a Christian.
John 9:24-25 (NIV)
A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give glory to God," they said. "We know this man [Jesus] is a sinner." He replied, "Whether he [Jesus] is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!"
Seems this guy wasn't overly concerned with the Pharisees who claimed that Jesus was not a Christian, and relied pretty heavily on the experience he had of being healed of his blindness.

Interestingly, here was the logic of the healed blind man, which Jesus commended;
John 9:30-33 (NIV)
The man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."
Jesus had some pretty stern words for the Pharisees though;
John 9:39-41 (NIV)
Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?" Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

You do realize that in the time it took you to type this post, you could have said a short prayer for TB, right?

In the time it took you to post this did you pray for me?

I do not know Todd Bentley and do not know how to pray for him. Have you prayed for the President today? How about your governor, your pastor, the members of your church, your family, your friends, your coworkers, your graduating class, the cashier at the grocery store, the teller at the bank, last person who emailed you, all of those who have sent you an email in the past, say, month or so, have you prayed for every person in your neighborhood, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum?

We can’t pray for everybody, Pete. So I pray for those in my real world not the make-believe world of celebrity religious television.

Anyhow, I am sure TB has all the concerned prayers he needs.

No, I didn't. But I did say a prayer for TB. And now that you've mentioned it, I've said a prayer for you as well, similar to the one below. ;)

I do not know Todd Bentley and do not know how to pray for him.

Well then let me help you;
Thank you Father for revealing your Love to Todd Bentley. I pray that as you continue to form him more and more into Your image and likeness that he will follow after Your will for his life. In Jesus name, amen.
No one is suggesting you should spend hours in travail for TB. Just simply say a little prayer. Personally, I think it's a sad state of affairs when we "don't have time" to take 30 seconds to pray for someone.

I do not pray for all of those people every day. But I do pray for them as God lays them on my heart.

Thanks for your, um, help, Pete.

I suppose I could say that God has not laid TB on my heart.

I suppose you could say that, but it'd be awfully hard to believe since you're sitting here posting about him (again). ;)

You've said in the past that you don't want to talk about Tood Bentley, but you've posted (in this thread about Todd Bentley) 4 times in the last 2 hours. Here's a novel idea; if you don't want to talk about Todd Bentley, then, um, don't talk about Todd Bentley. :D

Actually, I am baffled by all the compassion extended toward TB in this forum while those he defrauded and deceived escape with any notice, much less compassion. I think I will pray for his victims.

But you are right, I have spent way too much time on TB (again). So :wave: I'm outta this thread.

No I haven't. He's stated in the past that he don't even read such emails, so what would be the point other than wasting my time.

I pray for him, because that's all I can do for him on a personal level.
