Would you get married if you couldn't use birth control?

That is actually something an issue I am having right now! My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half now, and we know that we want to get married. The problem is that I am allergic to latex and have very VERY sensitive skin allergies that rule out creams and other things like that. I am uncertain about the pill, as I have to do more research to see if they can cause abortions. I have heard a lot, and I have to look in to it. Both of us know that we do not want kids right now, but if God gave us kids then so be it. So its more of an issue of whether or not bc is Biblical... if not, then we will delay getting married until we are ready to have children.

Avante lambskin condoms.
They aren't as strong as regular condoms, and they're a bit more expensive but better than nothing.
And I believe they are nononxyl-9 free as well.

why are you supporting condoms?

The question was asked, I answered.
It would probably more apropos to ask me why I was in a sex shop that one time or why I was watching the Sunday Night Sex Show.
I don't see how knowing facts about condoms, nonoxonyl-9, and contraceptive automatically means I support contraceptives.
Obviously, I just paid attention in sex-ed. Maybe you didn't, but some of us actually did.

I know a couple of facts about Idi Amin, too. Does that mean I support his policies as well?

you cut me to the quick, well done.
I am sorry for assuming you suported conraceptives.
As for the Sunday Night Sex Show well I am sure we all have viewing habits that can be a little odd, nothing wrong with that.

I would rather people support contraceptives, than unprotected sex. But I agree with Quirk, because it's about supporting the contraceptive or not, but about the education of it. Because it is still very risky business. Like razzeldazzel people have allergies and lots of them and some people who don't get educated about contraceptives or sex for that matter, have no idea what they are getting into until it's done and then you could have big problems on your hands and not only do you pay for your descisions but emotionally you can actually wind up literally paying for them financially if you get sick. Thats one thing about the entire subject of sex education.... there is not enough of it.

Gah. I'm pro-choice, I think everyone should have access to information regarding birth control and should be able to purchase it. On that standing I would not get married if there was some sort of prohibition on using it. That's almost entirely because I think people should have the right to make that decision without someone from outside their relationship controlling it.

However it would not be an issue for me if it were merely the preferences of a hypothetical spouse. I have no desire to be in a relationship so it's hard for me to actually think about this, but my personal preference tends to lie with being open to life. If this meshed with their view, perfect, if not and we were both uncompromising then perhaps the marriage wouldn't be as compatible as it should be.

Marriage is not simply just about sex. I wouldn't get marriage just because we can't use birth control, what if we didn't want children? You get married when you're ready to get married. You have sex when you're ready to deal with the outcome of sex, which is children. If the only thing preventing us from having children was getting married, then we'd do it. Thankfully, condoms, birth control, and other things are available to us...so if you're married and don't want children just yet, you have the option.

I'm having a hard time understanding what your question is... Would I marry someone I wanted to have sex with just to have sex with them because I didn't have the option of birth control? If so, the answer would definitely be no.

The pullout method doesn't always work. We already have one and cannot financially handle another. Most of the time, on top of being on birth control, we also pullout so it betters the chances of NOT getting pregnant. I do eventually wanted another one, just not at this moment in time. I believe, although God knows what I can and cannot handle, I shouldn't tempt the Lord. We had Christopher when we were not intending to have a baby because we weren't being "smart", so to say. Do not tempt the Lord... If you're not ready for a child, use protection!! Christopher is a blessing from the Lord, but I can't afford another blessing just yet, so we're taking precautions just like millions of other couples do.
