There's a picture floating around the 'net that says "no skate-boarding, except for Jesus." It's cute.

As it is, I don't approve of the label 'skater' for a couple of reasons: if you skate [as I do], people assume you be a skater. As such, they assume that you listen to a certain sort of music, dress a certain way and spend time with certain people. If you don't do these things [and I don't! I prefer designer brands. My favourite style of music is grunge, but I also like other stuff - pop rock, country & western and dance. And I spend time with people who have probably never touched a skateboard in their lives], you're branded a 'poseur'. I skate, but I'm not a skater.

personally I've always had a problem with ANY kind of 'if Jesus were here today I think He would be like _______" or putting Him in any kind of label or comparison to a specific group today. Christ is who He is, and He is like no one who ever was, is, or will be.

He is not a skater, prep, hippie, grungie, raver, nerd, or any classification that a person could be put into. He simply is as the Bible presents Him to be.

This post was for the first to find other Christians who rides a skateboard. since a skaters can't be Christian and nice, acording to

...As it is, I don't approve of the label 'skater'...
1st of, i do listen to some of that music "hang with those ppl" and dresses like that to.. or almost.
Then you can say the same things about Christians that you do listen just to that kind of music , hanging out with certain kind of ppl, and dresses a certain way. then since most of the none Christians think it is like that, then according to your thinking (not according to you just if i would think like you think) then it would be like this "I Praise the Lord and Believe in Jesus but I'm not a Christian"
I skate, but I'm not a skater.
, since most of my time is with none Christian, sure i do listen to worship songs, but most of the time i listen to "skate music" and, i don't dress like a Christian. But is it that who makes you a Christian? NO! it that you believe that Jesus is Gods son and that He died for You on the Cross to take away sins and sickness and want Him in your heart. Thats makes you a Christian, same with skateboarding its the board who makes you the skater not the additional things.

i hope you get my point without no misunderstandings =)

true... if Jesus would be send to the world to day (like He was 2000 years ago) He wouldn't skate. But He is skating to day, when i skate Jesus is with me and catching me if i fall.

You have a very confrontational way of disagreeing with people over a teeny-bopper label. I won't get hung up on that, though, because it's rude to come in here with the sole purpose of giving you a piece of my mind over your attitude. I've skated for a few years. I'm not exactly brilliant at it, but I can stay on the board and I enjoy it. I think that you mean 'skater' as in 'person who skates', not as in the label of the same name. As such, I guess you could call me a skater - I really don't like that term, though, or any other terms such as prep, emo, indie, gangsta, etc. They all strive to be mutually exclusive from one another, and they give the illusion that life needs to be even cliquier than it already is. I suppose that's just a moot point, though, because it seems that when you say skater you don't mean the clique, you mean the sport. Perhaps you should be more specific next time. ;)

ETA: Oh, and I've always personally had a thing where I imagine Jesus in rollerblades, but I suppose that's just the influence of 21st century culture on my way of thinking.

I Apologize for my response. i was kind of rude. It wasn't meant to be rude and aggressive. Sorry:doh: but none is perfect.

Yes, I guess I choose wrong time to make a respond to the other post. but none is perfect.
Either am i "the pro" at skating, but i really enjoys it since if wouldn't be on the board i wouldn't meet Jesus. so i really feel for skating because i do it for God:amen:

I got a skateboard for Christmas, but I've only gotten to ride it around campus once, since it has either been snowing or raining just about every day since I got back here.
I'll hope that you'll get the time and the weather to skate :)

Steve caballero came to my church recently.

Cool :O i haven't really heard of him but i will check if i find anything on youtube. :D

I used to roller blade!!!! lol..
I'm pretty good at going fast, can't do any tricks though

Haven't done that in a few years..

I've tried roller blades 2. but i can't ride those (same with ice skating) i have a problem with my feet so can't ride those things. but its good exercise.
