I wonder if any of you people posting here have taken serious time in prayer before deciding sides. Are you relying on the wisdom of man? Do you not see that God is in control and it really doesn't matter what you think?

You'll try to understand if the rest of us choose not to mistake fatalism and futility with faith.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
Ok, I worship the Goddess of Wisdom, how do you think it makes me feel to see Palin on TV :D

What will yall do to realize that this country really is Christian and conservative? Blame it on ignorance, even when it is a majority?
Christians are the majority religion currently (though they are losing that title) but I would NOT go so far as to say this is a CHRISTIAN country nor is it a Conservative country. We tend to think it is because Conservatives are so vocal, but election time and poll after poll shows that not to be true.

That's a bit out of whack. You use reason to decide a side; the previous president has shown us how irrelevant -- and even dangerous -- it can be when deciding on an outcome. Seriously. Prayer aligns you with God and calms your despair; saying that it leads to an exclusive truth position only invites the possibility of a person from another side (e.g., against Palin) who has prayed and come to another conclusion.

..and those are the same reasons why those on the Right criticize her ever since her pick as VP and counting, something that seems to get lost on her supporters.

Honestly to have this woman called a conservative bugs the heck out of me.

She's a neocon.

That's really an excellent point. How would Christians reconcile to conflicting statements such as:

Person 1: I prayed and the Spirit led me to believe Sarah Palin should be president.

Person 2: I prayed and the Spirit led me to believe Sarah Palin should not be president.

So I guess the options are

1) One person is lying
2) Both are telling the truth and the Spirit is telling them different things
3) The Spirit is really just another way of saying "I thought really hard and came to this conclusion".

I would guess; not many.

To me, I think the Christian knows it will all go down exactly as it has been written, and the Christian knows it is all in God's hands.:)

That's fatalistic, and negates the point of prayer from an orthodox view -- i.e., that it can change things, rather than that it simply (but by no means lightly) calms the pray-er. Do you think God had "written out" Abraham's prayer to Him to cease His anger?

It's not hard to see how thinking like this -- i.e., that God will lead me into objective truth (rather than spiritual truth) -- can lead to intolerance and hatred. Oh swell.

You left out one obvious alternative. BOTH are lying (or are mistaken/deluded).
