Having a phobia of baby dolls, clowns and ventriloquist's dummies(not to mention clowns and spiders),I don't even have the guts to watch "Dead Silence" but it sounds plenty scary to me!

Has anyone seen it,and does it make your 'scariest' list?

Okay, I have to take back my original post. Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" is the most terrifying movie I've seen. I cannot watch the movie all the way through and when I see a large amount of birds massing, I get nervous.

That actually happened to me a few years ago. And it was even more terrifying because I heard demon voices and I believed it was coming from the birds. It was as if the birds were actually talking.

In my opinion, The Birds is a very terrifying movie. I didn't even get to finish the movie.

So everyone, what do you think is the scariest movie ever made? Psycho? Jaws? The Exorcist? I've seen all three and I think they all are overated. Recently I saw a Roman Polanski film called The Tenant and I though it was hands down the scariest movie I had ever seen. It's one of my favorite movies also. It's not scary in any sort of normal sense rather it's a guy wondering if he is going crazy. It was in all ways great. So what do you people think about the scariest movie ever?

I have seen (I don't watch horror anymore) about 100 horror movies (maybe more) and I have deemed none of them (excluding The Birds) to be terrifying.

Horror movie criticism:

- The Ring and The Grudge were very disturbing, but they are impossible, thank God for that. ^_^
- The Exorcist was not scary.
- A Haunting was clean (my first horror movie).
- Hellraiser is obviously satanic.
- The slashers are pointless. Mindless killing, people. Mindless killing.
- The torture films are sexually immoral.
- The zombies are unrealistic unless the infection is parasitic.
- The angels are blasphemed.
- The demons are not demons. Real demons are terrifying. What is a demon? Literally hell on earth.
- There is no God.

Ya know, I still think The Birds is the most terrifying movie I've seen, but this one was really, really, really disturbing. It wasn't in your face scary, but really subtle like it would be in real life and I think that's what freaked me out.

It's the fact you can't see the opponent, and you know it's evil, and you know you can't stop it! Yeah, the baby powder scene scared me for months afterwards.
