I like more plain vegetables too. I really don't care for the Thanksgiving type seasonings and casseroles that I only see at this time of year.

I don't care for gravy either. I'll actually sometimes eat it on other stuff (at other times), but never on turkey and stuffing.

I would love to have a Mexican style sometime. This would be on my ideal Thanksgiving list:

Roast chicken
Mexican rice
Flour tortillas
Borracho beans
Salsa
Cooked spinach, vinegar added
Macaroni and cheese
Cranberry sauce

I think I could eat that every day.

One year, I want to have a Thanksgiving that is nothing but pizza and birthday cake ice cream. Good pizza, not the frozen junk. Probably from Papa John's. I'm not usually one to pick a chain restaurant, but I think Papa John's is about as close to pizza perfection as I dare tread.

For me...turkey happened to be like the minor part of the meal. I went to someone else's place...where the husband is a sushi chef and the wife cooks well too.

So I had really fresh sushi...
this corn mixture...
kimchi eggrolls
scallop tempura
bowtie pasta
jalapeno poppers
noodles
turkey
and some wine.

They also served lasagna and some other stuff but didn't get to eat it.

Then I went to my cousin's place and we had...

crab
fish (not sure what kind)
kimchi
honey ham
shrimp
this mushroom thing
this fried pork thing
Turkish delight
Russian cola.

And I don't do desserts but the first place had a ton.

I had turkey and sweet potatoes with marshmellows and green beans and corn bread, oh so much cornbread... from Boston market. And I had cheesecake for dessert!!

Sounds good! I miss Boston Markets from my time in NC.
