You actually are the ignorant one, cause I have a higher education than you will ever have, and it actually includes Physics!
I do believe I hit a nerve ladies and gentlemen!

So your education includes physics just not cosmology. Gotcha.

One need not go back and fix the original post
Then kindly stop weeping when people respond to the post you have decided to leave uncorrected.

Wow. You caught unto my plan to stop responding him. Observant of you.

Obviously, you cannot read my further clarification of Mars having an atmosphere but it not really pertaining to global warming. And did you just post a picture of 6.5 billion people or 6.5 billion rocks?

Back to global warming. Just because the warming trend appears to have halted for the time being, doesn't mean that a cooling trend has started. These past 2 years summers have ranked in the top 10 warmest summer of all time since the 1880's. NASA temperature maps are still showing an overall increase in temperature, especially in the north. As I said, I don't doubt warming is happening, I live in an area where it is quite evident. I couldn't say whether human activities are the sole cause to it, or whether they are contributing to a larger scale phenomenon.

You brought them up, why don't you find them.

Well, because I've already read them.

Another AP story this morning about how iceberg swarms are making it all the way to New Zealand.

The reason they gave? The icebergs, which usually melt way before they reach them, are staying intact due to a cooling of the waters.

Well yes, logically if the ice bergs are melting they begin to cool the mean water temperature in their vicinity. This would enable later ones breaking away to travel and melt further out. The cooling of the ocean near the poles is thought to be part of some the drastic weather changes we see.

This is a science thread, so I daresay it was on-topic.

I posted a picture of the Martian atmosphere, which you seemed to think didn't exist. Nothing more.

You shouldn't need to explain what photo you posted, after all

They have a higher education than others can ever get.

They were both AP stories. I'm sure you can find them yourself.

Is AP a science organization now? Also, it's not my job to provide evidence for your assertions.

Did I say it was good? Hmmmm, seems you have contracted an add to memory syndrome.

I added nothing to your insinuation that CO2 had prevented an ice-age. That's just idiocy, and it's a variation of the argument that global warming is good.

Not my argument. But it is the argument of many scientists. But you know more.

Cite your sources, please. Assertions get you nowhere.

:) A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

If only you had a little knowledge. Your PRATTS are fairly idiotic.

Why are we taught "fundemental" math when it isn't used for the mathmatics required at a higher level?
Because all of mathematics is based on it. There are few things more fundamental to mathematics than the concepts of addition, multiplication, and exponentiation, equality and inequality, numbers and variables.

And now that you've made me think of it:

exp[i*Pi]+1=0

FTW.

^_^ I'm not laughing at the equation, just the fact that its thrown up here to boggle my mind. One thing I know for certain with this equation is that it's a scientific equation. Now watch me be wrong ^_^

Scientific math is different than straight up mathmatics. Something I learned when trying to take science and math together. Lesson...don't take the two together and with enough tutors I may just be all right.

Later and Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

It combines the five most important quantities, the three most important operators, and the most important relation, into one equation. Best equation ever.

Though, technically, 'exp' needs two arguments: a base and an exponent. e[sup]iπ[/sup] + 1 = 0 is more accurate :p

Physics is essentially science and mathematics working together in perfect harmony ^_^.

Best holiday EVAR! I started planned this year's menu around March. I get to spend 2 days cooking and have everyone tell me how great it is (whether or not it actually is) then they get to clean up my mess while I sit on the couch in a digestive coma.

You'd be surprised, having done bits of both I'd say it's similar, just different applications, I can remember my mind being fairly blown when I first realised you could use all these abstract mathematical functions to actually describe things! ;)

Although that Euler identity is fairly hardcore maths - but we do use complex exponentials a lot in physics...

At this stage I'm tempted to bring out the complex analysis jokes, but I'd say about 3 people here might get them.

TECHNICALLY e[sup]iπ(1+2n)[/sup] + 1 = 0 is more accurate if we're in the complex plane :p

That's more general, but I implicitly chose the principle argument ;). Generalising further, e[sup]iθ[/sup] = cos(θ) + isin(θ), but then the identity loses its elegance somewhat ^_^.
