Ephesians, Philemon, Ephesians and Colosians are called "the prison epistles" because they were written while he was literally confined. The quote from 2 Tim says not to be ashamed of his imprisonment.

Yes, thanks. I do have to set about reading the ot/NT again, it has been 5 years since last cover to cover, that passage simply came to mind.

Still a prisoner though. Must have been a reason...

Reminds me very much of when a believer breaks a leg or something.. and then says.. "the Lord must be stopping me from something.."

His rod and His staff do comfort me. Thus the good shepherd.

Oh no! How is a shepherd good if he whacks the sheep? His Rod and His Staff comfort me because I feel the gentle tap "herding" me in the right direction. That assurance is comforting, and I take refuge near Him knowing He'll whack the wolf!

God is 100% good all the time. The devil is 100% bad all the time. We are now seen as sons and daughters and no father would give a stone instead of bread or a serpent instead of a fish! Everything works for our benefit even the attacks of the devil. When Jesus was asked about the blind man who sinned his parents that he was blind? Jesus told them neither that the glory of the Lord would be revealed. Did He say God did it? NO! He gave the solution without listening to the voice of reason that tried to explain why.

As believers we need to stop trying to explain something God didn't explain. He empowered us,..not giving reasons a mile long why we are still in bondage. There are times when we must rest in Him and labor into that rest at that. There are other times we co-labor with Him by speaking what He last spoke to us and standing in perseverance until it is completed. When we were told the gates of Hell would not prevail against us,...it means we're gonna take it because we already won in Christ.

It all boils down to knowing God's will. When you know God's will you can easily see what's Him and not. Look at the life of Jesus. He never told anyone "God made you sick/etc to learn from Him". So what is God's will? That we would destroy the work of the enemy by declaring the environment of Heaven on earth not just praying "on earth as it is in Heaven", and knowing it all flows from the Love, Mercy, and Grace of God. When you look at how love is described you can see clearly that He will never have bad things for you. But he'll prepare a table for you in the midst of your enemies, He'll turn around what was meant for your destruction from the enemy and you'll be blessed. And if you dare storm the camp to get 7 fold from the thief for being caught well...hehe.

Look at the life of Jesus and you will see the will of God for us. When we see His will and we trust Him and believe Him and we are at peace with Him and stand in truth and love, we then want our will to be His will. And He will prove His will over and over again. "1 Cor 4:20 The kingdom of heaven is not in word but of power." If a salesman comes to your house and tells you all the good things about a product but never demonstrates it,...how much faith do you have that it will work? Same thing with Christianity, but we can only demonstrate a will that we are agreeing with and standing with. If we agree sickness is from the Lord,..half the time we'll believe ourselves worse! Not always, but we dig our hole deeper! The devil loves that false sense of humility that we must learn the hard way blah blah. Yes the way is narrow...let me suggest something. Many haven't found it yet. If God puts us through these things and they were meant to teach us,..we haven't learned anything and EVERYONE would have been on the right road. *has conviction on this one myself* If we agree that God has co-missioned us by the blood of the lamb and we were to live a life like Jesus, and believe God really came as Son of Man...a mere human even though He was God, then He was modeling for us how to live and act. We can't become a sacrifice like He was on the cross,...but we can become a living sacrifice by letting His word become "flesh" in us and through us.

We still get to choose whose will we partner with. Unfortunately, myself included, we aren't getting it yet. I pray for the day we stand up and declare God's word with full conviction and know that we know and have full faith, trust and love in God, that His word manifests everywhere we go. He did say preach the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand: Heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, raise the dead and cast out demons. He didn't give us a condition He just told us to go and do it. Means He gave us the ability somewhere. Might have to do with agreeing with Him like Mary did when she conceived Him..:doh::clap:

Interesting. My I ask with wonder a question please? Doesn't the book say that when the holy spirit comes it will convict the world of sin? so we are not of the world anymore but the kingdom of the son. is there this convict of the spirit there also?
