...and we have a new standard for the "self-hating Jew." I honestly hope this isn't true, as Israel's existence being threatened by one of it's own...well...I don't have the words for it.

A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.

Sorry, its a haaretz article, but i cant post links yet. What about ultra liberal left wingers , all Jewish citizens of Israel that are firmly against the state and are pro-palestinian? Westboro church even not as cooky as them, they are , imho, committing downright treason against the country.They support Iran and PLO and whoever else wants to see us being pushed into the sea. Dont ask why....

Sadly it isn't! It has been widely reported that the Iranian leader was a Jew who changed his name. It is said that his anti-Jewish sentiments are his way of trying to avoid problems because of his Jewish blood ie if you stand strongly against the Jews, no one would dare to accuse you of being one! He clearly needs to be more careful when holding papers in the air where a long camera lense can read what is on them!

As I said, G_d has an amazing sense of humuor - disclosing this just as Iran admits to having the necessary equipment to obliterate their leader's own wider family and people! Maybe there will need to be another Purim? Bit like disclosing Clinton's affair with a Jewish girl as Clinton was preparing to take land from the Jews! Be you ever so high in the world, you cannot out-G_d, G_d!

hmmm... not quite. I just gave examples in the post above yours of Jews being openly antiisraeli and against Jews, as strange as it sounds.

The Telegraph was the first agency to pick this up the day before yesterday, I don't think its been widely reported.

As my post said: "It has been said..." I was reporting what others had said about a reason for his rather vociferous his anti-semitic views.

UK Telegraph 3rd; Jerusalem Post 3rd; BBC National News 3rd; New York Daily News 4th;

I posted on the 4th by which time the above papers and agencies had published the story, that I know of. There may be more.

The son of a leading Iranian authority accuses the Iranian President of changing his Jewish name.

Several Iranian media sources are quoting Mahdi Khazali – the son of a leading supporter of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – as having written in a blog that the president has Jewish roots. So reports the Hebrew-language Omedia website and Radio Free Europe.

Khazali, son of Ayatollah Abu Al-Kassam Khazali, says that Ahmadinejad changed his Jewish name on his ID card in order to hide his roots. Khazali the son says that the president hides his Jewish roots by attacking Israel and the Jews, and by expressing strong Muslim religious beliefs

A record of the name change still appears on the president’s ID card, however, says Khazali. His old name was Saburjian, and he hails from the Aradan region of Iran. The accusations appear in an article Khazali wrote entitled, “The Jews in Iran.” He says the time has come to “reveal the truth” about the Jews’ role in Iran.

When insane had posted this on the 3rd, the Telegraph had just broken the story to the international media. At that time it had *not* been widely reported. Sure, now by October 5th? Everyone's talkin bout it.

I have a friend who works at the local newspaper and she called me when the story broke on the AP news feed. A few hours later, insane posted here. When he had posted the thread pretty much the Telegraph was the only media source who had published the story (at least internationally).

Its fun having a friend who is connected directly to the AP wires. She likes to call me about all the "Jew stories" before they break on the intarwebz. It cracks me up that she thinks I'll be interested just because its jew-related.

Not to reveal anything personal about the faces here on the forums, but if I remember correctly, insane used to work in news media too. Maybe he's still connected?
