I saw on the itinerary a "Bill W and friends" meeting so I went. There were about 5 of us who came more than once through the week, we all came from different walks of life, and different areas of the world, yet we all came together like we have known each other for along time.
God is awesome, out of all of these people on the ship this group of 5 seemed to be put into the same itinerary to travel inland about 800 miles+ train, bus, and plane. We met up for another meeting as well and just seeing each other on inland trips was great support. God even had us together on the plane ride home, a woman and I laughed all the way home..lol. We exchanged our email info and I told her about this site, hope she joins us. We may go to the annual AA convention together next year.

So I found this to be a God thing, and just wanted to share.

I had always heard about the Friends of Bill W meetings on cruises. I have never been on a cruise, but hope to someday take the Alaska cruise as you did.

When I travel, I have been blessed by meetings in the towns I visit. I have been to meetings in Michigan, Pittsburgh, the D.C. Metro area, Johnstown, PA, and the Jersey Shore, to name a few. They are all supportive and like family reunions, where we have a common bond.

So glad you have connected with someone and are in contact with her still. That is the beauty of the program.

It's truly great how a meeting can be found anywhere in the world..or on the seas!

I received my 1 year chip in Tokyo and my 2 year in Australia, and many other places in the years since.

Sounds like your doing a great job in sobriety.
