Everyone is throwing around the term "theological truth". What "theological truth" is an icon supposed to depict?

In the Nativity icon there is the scene of the midwife bathing the infant Christ. What is the "theological truth" of this scene, or is it just "cute"?:)

Christ truly became man.

A Baby, a Divine Child, who grows in wisdom.

Christ, who is Wisdom, grows in wisdom.

I remain in awe that God became Man so that man could become god.

I'm sure our yiayiades were all venerating icons for their theological truths ;)

I see nothing wrong with it, either. The First footsteps of the Christ child were the beginning of Christ's travels to deliver the Good News to mankind. This is what I get out of it, in addition to being a tender moment with his mother, the Theotokos.
