I'll gladly fall victim to this. I love cats =]

I agree, life would seem so empty without my furry feline friends. :) One of my cats is practically my shadow. She follows me around all the time. At this moment she is sitting on the back of the computer chair purring like mad. And if I get up to get more coffee she will follow me to the kitchen and follow me back to the computer. She is also my talker. She meows--and not just the "get me some food" meow--all the time.

If you click onto this BBC News Link you can hear the actual purr.

Only one of my cats purrs like that but only when I'm on CF and he wants me to get off. Ahhhhh, I've learnt something - He irritates me off spending time on CF.

its funny how they know which of their vocalizations are bestsuited for what situations.

if my cat wants out of the room, it'll be annoying and make noise and rutle papers, and use this horrible yeowling thats just unbearable. so of course I'll wake up and let her out. (I have two cats)

but if my cat wants food when im in the kitchen, it'll make this cute barking, half-purr half yelp thing thats just adorable.

but if they think their litter box needs cleaning, they'll do this urgent, repetitive meow next to the litter box.

The one that I've come to dread is the faintly muffled meow of triumph, which can mean only one thing: The boy has caught something cute and fluffy, or small and feathery, or green and amphibian and has brought it in to "play" with it. Assuming that I don't rescue it first.

Or unless he decides to do it in the middle of the night, and decides to try to drop a frog in my ear again.

I'm a dog person, so those purrs make me wanna get a pit bull to have a snack.
Nooooooooo! Dogs are Haram, dogs are haram! Especially those who have a taste for cute little kitties, with non irritating-get-off-puter purrs! ^_^

You are lucky. My cat and dogs worship me. That means the cat brings offerings. Nothing like a live ouse dropped on your chest at 2 am. I just hope the dogs don't get involved. I do not want a live racoon offering. And yes one of them has caught a racoon and carried it like a cat acrrying a mouse.
