That's easy. I was born an atheist, as is everyone else.
I was indoctrinated into the Christian beliefs a few years later (e.g., I went to a Catholic elementary school, complete with nun teachers), and then became an atheist of a more explicit sort sometime in my adolescence. I credit the light of reason for my enlightenment.

I became an atheist about 6 or 7 years ago after deconverting from Christianity. To answer "how" it came about, I would have to say it was a gradual process of questioning the faith which eventually led to much doubt and skepticism about the faith I was following for nearly 20 years. I more or less went from fundamentalist to moderate Christian to agnositc and finally received my free thought diploma that now qualifies me into the halls of a positive or strong atheist.
As a side note. I posted this thread so long ago and haven't been participating as frequently as I used to that I almost forgot this was my thread ! LOL ....
That said, thanks for asking my fellow infidel.

Yah I feel for you there, Franklin. When I was an xtian I found it quite fun to mess with you in GA.
However, I've come to believe now that the xtian god is false.
