it seems people are regularly bitten including the founder of this pentecostal practice dying from a snake bite in 1955.

And so did steve erwin. Wow, he must be the most devout xian in the world until a sting ray took him out. Too bad the bible didn't cover rays....which is true. It doesn't however change the fact that some Churches do indeed handle snakes.

Well I can't speak to how devout Irwin was or wasn't I am unaware of any Scripture equating snake handling with being a better Christian. And so did steve erwin. Wow, he must be the most devout xian in the world until a sting ray took him out. Too bad the bible didn't cover rays.
My point is if they were truly given some power there would be no bites, deaths, or disfigurements. So yes they handle them... just not without consequences.
and I posted several vids of people actually doing so, that you want to now move the goal posts doesn't change those facts.levi501 said:As absurd as handling deadly snakes sounds according to the bible christians should be able to do it.

Right well this where common sense should've come into play.
Turn on the discovery channel and there are many people handling snakes.
It should've been obvious that I meant without consequence.
