To answer your question, the purpose of having some of the forums labelled as Christian Only is to allow Christians to get answers to their questions by Christians from a Christian perspective (this is Christian Forums, after all). Many times, people have sincere questions that need advice that a non-Christian might not able to provide (such as Bible verses that relate to the topic or answers that include Christian ideals). These restrictions have come from previous incidents in which threads which began as a member asking for advice or an answer to a question have turned into big debates that were of almost no help to the original poster. There are places here to debate things, I assure you, but there are also places in which a debate is unwelcome.

However, non-Christians are more than welcome to engage in discussion in the sections of the forum that are not restricted the Christians only. I am glad you chose to join here and I hope you will have an enjoyable time here.

I think tpk already said it all.. Not every section is meant for debates or such, but rather advice and the type of things.
