• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Sweetheart if you have accepted that the ROCK, who is JESUS CHRIST, SON OF THE LIVING GOD, died on the cross for YOUR sins, and that He is your Lord and Savior, then you are going to Heaven and the enemy cannot touch you.

It's in His Word, so start believing it. You won't experience any kind of decent relationship until you start believing it.

The devil is lying to you because you are a Child of God and he wants to keep you down.

The difference between you and other Christians is because of childhood or some trauma you actually BELIEVE his lies. It's ok, cause we all fall for his garbage from time to time, but you are forgiven your sins. All of them. Now get your insides figured out as to why you believe this nonsense and you will start to experience a better relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Hi veryworried,
You can't accidently sin. But if you have OCD you can have unwanted/instrusive thoughts and disturbing statements which sometimes even come out of your mouth in the same way a person with tourettes syndrome blurts out stuff they don't want to say.
If you believe - then you aren't going to hell. But if you have OCD, I don't know if you do, the associated fear can make you feel as if you are going to hell. But those feelings are false - just very hard to ignore because they're so intense.
Everyone of us with religious OCD has statements that pop up inside our head that cause us to feel as if we are condemned. If we didn't have OCD we'd just shrug them off by telling ourselves that we don't believe them but with OCD the very idea that they popped into our heads totally freaks us out. So then we begin obsessing about them and trying to gain a feeling of reassurance that we're still OK with our Lord.
Praying for you,
Mitzi
I accidentally blurted something out of my mouth last month that I know was unforgivable and I am afraid I'm going to Hell even though I believe. :(

Someone please tell me if God is still with me and they feel the Holy Spirit is still within me.

Thank you!
I just hope God is merciful.

God is ever merciful! He forgives you and cleanses you of ALL unrighteousness if you just ask Him!

He took ALL of your sin away on the cross! Don't focus on yourself or on your sin. You will sin and you will fall because you are human! Focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was sinless and took away your sin. Don't beat yourself up, because the Lord doesn't. He loves you so much He died for you! Just confess your sin to the Lord, no matter what it s, and then accept that He forgives you. Because He does.:amen:

Brother,
When I was 19, a newborn hardcore Christian I had a thought in my brain against the Holy Spirit. This is VERY COMMON WITH CHRISTIANS. The reason why is because it's what we fear most. A pastor can give a sermon on "Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit", and there will always be someone who during the sermon think a bad thought against the Holy Spirit. This is our nature and basic psycology. If someone said "If you think of pink Elephants you will go to hell, and you believed them, you'd be in trouble, because the anxiety produces only thoughts of Pink Elephants. I did not overcome my daily intrusive thoughts, they wore me down, but that did not change the objective truth that God has already saved me. Only a non-Christian would not be concerned, that's why there is no "Non-Christian" OCD in regards to spiritual matters!
OCD, 20 years later, has resurfaced through a series of events that produced anxiety. I simply allow them in, try my best to laugh at them, I say to the Lord, "Wouldn't it be terrible if I actually thought that way". In my opinion, the only "Cure" for OCD is acceptance, faith that it is, and letting it run it's course. The more you fight it, the worse it will get, guaranteed. So let it go, laught at it, and ask yourself if that's truly in your deepest heart and your life what you really believe.
