So here it is.

A mother has two children, one whom is special needs. Both under the age of 10. The mother has kidney disease and almost did not survive last labor. She had her tubes tied to prevent pregnancy. however, after a few years it seems that one of the tubes has grown back. This means she is pregnant again. Here is the dilemma my friend is having. Try to carry the baby and risk losing her and the child's life or terminate through a hysterectomy. The drs. said her kidneys would be gone by now and they are not, but it was the last birth that caused them to begin to fail. What do I tell her. What should she do?

I am so sorry for your friend. That is a horrible heart breaking situation.
If I may ask, is she married? If so, this has to be a decision they make together. Obviously there are no easy answers. Also, does she go to church? Pastoral counseling is so important here.

First, tell her to pray for God's mercy.
Second, tell her to carry the child as long as possible.

Tell me her first name and I will pray for her and her baby.
There is always hope.:)

She is married and his opinion is he wants her. He doesn't want to take the risk. He has reminded her she has children here who need her. Yes, she is a christian and that is why this is so difficult. Her pastor and his wife are great friends of hers and so far the pastor's wife has said she needs to remember especially the special needs child needs her. her name is Marie.

it saddens me that both her husband and the pastor's wife seem to only focus on the children that are already born. Her child in her womb needs her as well.

She needs to put this in God's hands and continue her pregnancy, taking every precaution necessary to help take the pregnancy to term. With the medical advances we've been seeing, they can do a great deal to keep her stable and comfortable during her pregnancy. But it requires effort and a lot of work.

I believe that nothing takes God by surprise. He knows that baby intimately already. I believe that Marie and her husband are being tested in their faith. God is able to heal this entire situation for this couple He loves. This is one of those mountains that He will move by our faith.

I will pray for Marie and for this child.

I would fully agree with all the advice given here. She and her husband need parayer and sound christian counseling. i would add one admonition. Once they make their decision, whatever it is, they should receive the full support of those around them. they are going to be deeply wounded in any case, and too many time we as christians kill our own wounded.please don't let this happen to them.

I will be praying for them

God Bless

Agreed. But beyond that, I don't know what they should do.

Praying for Marie and her family.

Make sure shes is constantly having medical tests done to know the state of her kidneys. If they start to deteriorate then she must follow the advice of a good doctor. It would be foolish to continue the pregnancy on faith alone, so I pray she receives good medical attention.
