30 Bible prophecies that have happened or that is happening right now:

1.) Mankind would be capable of destroying all life (Matthew 24:21-22). Consider that when Jesus made this prophecy the armaments of His day were swords and spears. But today, with nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons, it is possible to wipe out all flesh on planet earth.

2.) There would be a global cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3). Never has there been such a concerted, global effort to bring about peace at any cost as there is today.

3.) The returning Jews would come from the north, south, east, and west (Isaiah 43:5-6; Jeremiah 31:7-10,Ezekiel 37:21). Amazingly, nearly a million Jews have emigrated from Russia in the north. Over 90,000 Ethiopian Jews have emigrated from the south (Zephaniah 3:10). Since 1948, Jews have emigrated from Europe, Asia, the Americas, everywhere!

4.) Israel would prosper economically (Ezekiel 38:12-13). Amazingly, this recently regathered, tiny nation exported over 30 billion dollars worth of goods in 2004. In contrast, their neighbor Jordan exported less than 3 billion in 2004. This was inconceivable just a few decades ago!

5.) In the last days Israel would have a peace treaty in place that the Antichrist will confirm and eventually break (Daniel 9:27). Currently the world's governments are striving for an Israeli peace treaty.

6.) The earth would be filled with violence (Luke 17:26; Genesis 6:11-13). In the United States alone, violent crime has increased nearly 500% since 1960. Fifty years ago abortion (the violent murder of an unborn child) was illegal in most countries. Today abortion is legal in most countries and 50 million children are aborted each year.

7.) Multitudes would travel to and fro (Daniel 12:4). Prior to the Industrial Revolution, few individuals traveled beyond their community. Until recently, horse, foot, and boat were the only modes of transportation. Yet today we travel by car, bus, plane, train, subway, etc. Millions and millions are running to and fro just as Daniel prophesied 2500 years ago!

8.) Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4). Today we are witnessing an explosion of available knowledge. With the advent of the internet, it is estimated that our cumulative knowledge is doubling every five years. This exponential increase is beyond what any one could have imagined!

9.) Deadly diseases (which the Bible calls pestilences) would be common (Matthew 24:7). Emerging diseases such as AIDS, ebola, Hanta virus, Dengue, West Nile, SARS, bird flu, etc., underscore this fact. Ironically, just a few decades ago, some scientists were forecasting that advances in medicine might soon eradicate deadly diseases.

10.) The final generation would be open to receiving a mark on their right hand or on their forehead (Revelation 13:16). Consider how the up and coming generation is tattooed, pierced and marked with all kinds of insignia. Also check out these links about people alreay testing a microchip to be implanted under the skin of people:

11.) Sexual immorality would be rampant (Jude 18; Revelation 9:21). Keep in mind, Jesus said whoever looks to lust has already committed adultery in his heart (Matthew 5:28). Therefore, God equates Internet inappropriate content, lustful movies, TV shows, and magazines to fornication. The availability and consumption of sensual products has exploded in our generation.

12.) Men would be lovers of themselves (2 Timothy 3:1-2). This generation, like no other, regards self above all else. Self-love, self-esteem, self-reliance, self-gratification, are encouraged by the media, schools, psychologists, etc. In contrast, Jesus taught self-denial. Even many churches today preach a feel good about yourself message.

13.) Homosexuality would be flaunted at the end of the age. Jesus warned that the last days would be like the days of Lot who lived in wicked Sodom (Luke 17:28-30). We know that the root of Sodom's sin was pride and complacency (Ezekiel 16:49) as it is today. However, Sodom's lasting infamy stemmed from their aggressive homosexual sin (Genesis 19; Jude 1:7). Today, the homosexual agenda is flaunted and forced upon our entire society.

14.) Sorceries referring to witchcraft, magic, or occult practices used to enchant and deceive are also anticipated in the last days (Revelation 9:21; 18:23; 21:8; Isaiah 47:9-15; Micah 5:10-15). Today, interest in the occult is flourishing.

15.) Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, These signs have always been around (2 Peter 3:3-4).

16.) People would reject the sound doctrine of the Word of God and follow the doctrines of men that appeal to their own lusts (2 Timothy 4:3-4; Acts 20:29-30). Others would confess faith in Christ, but not obey His Word (Matthew 24:48-51; Matthew 7:22-23).

17.) Jesus said Christians would be hated for His name's sake (Luke 21:17; Revelation 6:9-11; 20:4). The banning of the Bible, prayer, the Ten Commandments, nativity scenes, Christmas songs, etc., reflects this trend. Also consider that more Christians were martyred during the past century than during all of history.

18.) Israel would be invincible (Zechariah 12:6-9). Since 1948, tiny Israel has been attacked in three major wars and six lesser wars, yet despite being vastly outnumbered, they have defeated all attacking foes. Even during the final battle, when it looks like Israel will be destroyed, the Lord shall deliver her. (Jeremiah 30:3-7; Zechariah 14; Mark 13:14-20). An invincible Israel makes no sense unless you believe God's Word.

19.) The Christian gospel would be preached as a witness to all nations (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10; Revelation 14:6). Today, portions or all of the Bible have been translated into over 2,300 languages and dialects covering over 90% of the world's population. Many Christian organizations are taking the gospel to the ends of the earth such as Teen Mania's global expeditions.

20.) Preparations for a global war anticipated (Joel 3:9-14; Matthew 24:22; Revelation 16:14). Never in history have so many nations stockpiled weapons of mass destruction.

21.) Global communications foreseen (Revelation 11:9-10; 17:8). The Bible prophesies that the entire world will see certain events unfold. The invention of the television and the deployment of global satellite networks during the 20th century allow news to travel the world at the speed of light for the first time ever. Remember that in the apostle John's day, news traveled at the speed of horseback.

22.) The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic Flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by most of the scientific world because it was judgment from God on man's wickedness.

23.) Many wars would erupt (Mark 13:7-8). According to Project Ploughshares, there are over 50 major armed conflicts in the world today.

24.) Anti-Semitism worldwide anticipated (Deuteronomy 28:37; Jeremiah 29:18; 44:8). History confirms that the Jews have been persecuted as no other people group. Hitler tried to exterminate them, and the Antichrist will attempt the same during the Tribulation. Today, anti-Semitism is a global epidemic. For example, of over 700 General Assembly resolutions passed since the establishment of the United Nations in 1945, nearly 450 condemn Israel. None have been passed against any Arab country nor any Arab terrorist organizations! In other words, out of 190 nations in the UN, over 60% of all General Assembly resolutions rebuke just one member, Israel!

25.)The last days Jews would plant forests of trees. The Bible even specifies the variety of trees, cedar, acacia, myrtle, oil, cypress, pine, and box (Isaiah 41:18-20). Since 1900 more than one billion trees have been planted in Israel! This has happened in our day after Israel lay barren for nearly two millennia.

26.) Ironically, Egypt and Jordan would not participate in this attack (Ezekiel 38). Interestingly, these two nations have signed recent peace treaties with Israel. Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.

27.) Population explosion foreseen (Revelation 7:9, 14). The apostle John, who wrote the Book of Revelation, was told the number of an army in the last days - 200 million (Revelation 9:16). This was the approximate population of the world at that time. That John also beholds a great multitude which no one could number coming out of the Great Tribulation at the end of the age (Revelation 7:9, 14), indicates an enormous number of people on planet earth in the last days.

28.) Humanity would become increasingly materialistic and lovers of pleasure (2 Timothy 3:1-5). No generation in history has had so many means to entertain and arouse the senses. Every imaginable hedonistic pleasure is available and has become big business.

29.) The nation Israel would be born in one day (Isaiah 66:8). On May 14, 1948 Israel became a nation.

30.) Many would call themselves the Christ (Matthew 24:5). Jesus was an itinerate preacher who never traveled outside the tiny nation of Israel and He had the audacity to say that many would come in His name, claiming to be the Christ. And yet today, multitudes within the New Age Movement, Eastern religions, and the cults call themselves the Christ. This is another incredible prophecy!

Awesome post! But instead of just showing us Christians who should allready believe in Bible prophecy, you should post all of that over on the non-christian board. It would do a lot more good over there. They will try (believe me) but I doubt they'll be able to come up with any reasonable arguments to that other than their usual "But there's always been war and disease" or "People have been predicting the end of the world for centuries" It's really quite comical how often you hear these arguments when they are at loss for words lol

I would agree with a lot of that, except for the OT prophesies about modern Israel and Jews. I think those OT texts are recordings of things that have already happened, and are not anything to do with the modern Zionist creation of Occupied Palestine.

As but a couple of examples of the problems with this post, consider violence and disease:

On violence, the post selectively cites crime rates and abortion as compared to fifty years ago, while ignoring minor little events like WWII and the holocaust. These events, plus the ensuing Cold War, also call into question the OP's conclusions about increasing war and preparation for war.

On disease, the OP again selectively refers to newer diseases while ignoring other diseases (e.g, smallpox, polio, leprosy) that have been eradicated or all but eradicated, and others that are now so easily treated as to be generally trivial (most bacterial infections). This argument is really hard to take too seriously when you consider that life expectancy is higher now than it has ever been before (I suppose except for the period before the flood, if you take a literal view on that).

I agree. We need to be more specific. I think that not long ago, people were sizing up Russia with the bible, as they were the main threat to the US, so not surprising that it was Russia that would attack occupied Palestine, at some future fantasy date.
The specify thing, which is ignored, is the 2nd beast in Rev.13.. which is the USA. And what that beast would do towards introducing the mark of that beast. The messianic persona of Obama might be of interest, as a warning perhaps.
The constructions in the fantasy books of 'Left Behind' ilk.. are products of that time.

We (Christians who believe prophecy is being fulfilled today) are NOT ignoring the World Wars and other wars in the past century. In fact they are part of what we are talking about. These prophecies are supposed to take place in a "generation" which is in the Bible is 120 years. Jesus said that he will return "before" this generation passes and he makes it clear that we are to watch for the signs and that those that do will be blessed. And I don't know about you but I think that the threats of nuclear war is definitely an escalation of anything we've seen in the past.

Last time I checked only the Father knew the day and time of Jesus' return...

Did I say that I know the DAY or the HOUR of his return? Maybe you should read Matt.24, Mark 13 and Luke 21

I'm pretty sure that it's 1/3 of the Bible that's prophetic. To ignore prophecy is to ignore 1/3 of God's word.

The OP, not I, chose the 50 year time frame. But if we go back 120 or more years, we will find other wars. We will also find things like slavery. (Incidentally, how do you figure out when to begin couting a "generation"?)

On the war and disease front, wouldn't the dark ages seem to fit the prophecy far better? During that period, something like 1/3 of the population of Europe died of plague, and war was basically constant. Unsurprisingly, many people believed these were signs of the fulfillment of prophecy.

It is frusterating how many times people have ignored 90% of mine and other people's posts and just focus on the prophecies concerning war and disease. Yes there were wars and disease in every century but first of all you have to remember that Jesus said that these things (wars, disease, famine, natural disasters) would be like Birth pains. As a woman, I know very well what birth pains are like. They start off mild and far apart, and then begin to build in frequency and intensity until they are constant with hardly any time to breathe between them. Any scientist will tell you that that is exactly what we are seeing in the case of natural disasters. As for disease and famine, sure in our own little corner of the world, there have been many advances in medicine but the majority of the world is filled with far more famine and disease than any other time in history. One of these diseases is AIDS. The entire world is affected by it. The Bible said that 1/3 of the earth will be wiped out by disease and famine. That's not too hard to imagine if you look at how many are dying in Africa alone. And Aids is spreading out of control in the western world too and will continue to spread as long as there is sexual immorality. And now there's the Swine Flu that has officially become a global pandemic. It is expected to come back full force in the fall and it is expected to mutate as well. If this happens, there could be thousands if not millions of casualties. The media is trying to avoid a panic by downplaying it but I worked in a nursing home and am friends with quite a few nurses and they have told me how serious the situation really is. As for war, if a nuclear weapon is used, it will set off a chain of events that could very well destroy all life on the planet just as Jesus predicted when he said that if he doesn't put a stop to it, no flesh will be saved. What else could he possibly be referring to? Never before in history has humanity had the means to annihilate themselves. Then on top of all this, the world must also be united under a global government and a global religion. Never before in history, since the Roman Empire that is, has there ever been a global government and there has never been a global religion, but the world leaders are working towards both. In the next couple years, I guarantee you that both will be in place. Then last but certainly not least, never since biblical times, has Isreal even existed. Many prophecies apply to isreal and Jeruselem and to the Jewish people having control over Isreal and Jeruselem. Prophecy also says that many parts of the world will want to wipe Isreal off the face of the map and "Cut it off from being a nation" At no other time in history (since Biblical times) has this even been possible and maybe you should look up the 6 day war in 1967 when Isreal reclaimed Jeruselem. It was truly a miraculous event. Anyone with any understanding of Prophecy knows that this is the only time in history that ALL of these things have come to pass. (or where evidence proves will come to pass shortly)

Humanity has a long way to go before there's a "global government." Most countries are far too proud of themselves to subject themselves to something like that. The closest thing we have to a global government is the UN and we all know how effective they are. Same with religions. And perhaps that proudness is a good thing. By the way, there have been plenty of multinational empires since the Roman empire. Remember colonialism?

I think people have got it all wrong.. they think they'v worked it all out, with 'all this will come to pass in this generation' etc. It's not a generation since 1947, as that is not real, in any biblical way. You try and argue this on common sense, and no one will listen, as they'v got it all worked out in their 'eds already. I think Jesus was talking to and about that generation that were there at that moment with him.. he either got it wrong, or meant something else by it. A generation is anything from 20-60 years, so it should all be over by now.

The world has never been closer to one world goverment....but that goverment is not political...it is economic....
The IMF,is a tool of this hidden goverment as is the UN as well as many countries already....
There really is a "conspiracy of the worlds richest to control this planet through creation of a new world oprder...
The Council on foriegn relations, bilderbergers, and other think tanks and organisations wield enormous influence on more than one of the G7.....look at the federal reserve...created in 1913, by the bankers, the US has been thrall to their policies ever since....
Though the foolish refuse to look any deeper than their own reflections,a little patient digging would reveal the extent of such machinations.
Perhaps it would be realised that both the world wars were created for profit by the rothschild banking conglomerate in concert with other major banks in the west...
They loaned the mony for the bolshevic revolution at the same time financed hitlers rise to power....
Wars are the main money maker for the banking system, and they have put the world in debt in order to fight them....
World goverment is all but accomplished by these unscroupulous fraudsters....
All that remains now for them to do is to impoverish those who would stand against them.

oh well al go out to meet Him when He comes....well all go out to meet Him when he comes ...if i am still there i know , ill meet Him in the air,
yeah, well all go out to meet Him when He comes....hum hum hum

Yeh, well people been harking that the time is short since Jesus left....
Paul preached it was imminent...
so powerfully he converted hundreds of thousands if not potentially millions...
Here it is two thousand years hence, and we are slipping into a barbarous post modern world of famine, disease, pestilence, war, sprinkled with signs and wonders amid prophecies that seem to be being fullfilled day after day...We can see any prophecy unfulfilled is now capable of happening so.....
Consider the fig tree....
