Do yall believe that the deaf and mute today are possesed by devils? Please try to use scripture.

Some non Christian people that are mute and/or deaf are possessed. Just like some non Christian people that can both hear and talk are possessed. I don't have time to give specific verses right now but you will read in the N.T. that if someone has the Holy Spirit they can't be possessed and you'll also read that all because someone is deaf or mute it is not always because of sin or demon possession.

My point is this:

Don't go overboard with the demon possession stuff! There are too many "ministries" out there that do this and it makes me sick and it hurts people in the long run.

Thanks again for listening.

True. I hear some that say demons are to blame for every sin and that Christians can be possessed. That is unbiblical. At the same time I think most Baptist churches don't talk enough about demons, at least from my experience. It is to easy to fall into either the left or right ditch on theological issues as a former pastor of mine always said. We need to strive for the narrow road.

Totally agreed on what you said here!!!
I've never really heard any Baptist preacher talk about literal demon possession. I did hear one preacher tell someone that if you actually get possessed by a real demon...call a Catholic priest! LOL

Don't get me wrong I do not believe that just because somebody is deaf that they are possesed by a demon, that is a cruel thing to say. But I know people who think so, and they take it from the bible. But I will qoute the verse that i am referring to 2morow when I am not sleepy, lol.

I haven't either, they all avoid it. I have never preached on demonic possesion either, but I have discussed it with one of my friends before because he thought he was possesed and I explained about the different spirits such as baal, and belial, but I doubt I'll preach specifically on demonic possesion anytime soon, haha.

I had a friend who was a Calvinistic Baptist minister. For most of the time I knew him he could see as good as anyone I knew. Until a few years ago, when he became consumed with greed and luqor! All of the sudden he started having difficulty reading scripture which I believe to be the devil hitting him twice with the same stick! Demons can cause physiological problems!
