After beholding in a dream-vision the coming destruction of the earth by the flood of Noah's day, Enoch cries out to God in great distress of heart of the judgment to come.

In the midst of this prayer, recorded in Enoch 84, we read in 84:6, "And now, my Lord, destroy from the earth the flesh which has aroused Thy wrath, but the flesh of righteousness and uprightness establish as a plant of the eternal seed, and hide not Thy face from the prayer of Thy servant, O Lord."

"A Plant of the eternal seed" is a reference to the godly lineage traced from Noah, through whom will come Jesus Christ, "the eternal seed". (cf: Enoch 10:16, 93:2+5)

Is that also the same as spoken in Enoch 93:1?

Enoch 93 1 I was born the seventh in the first week, While judgement and righteousness still endured.

4 And after me there shall arise in the second week great wickedness, And deceit shall have sprung up; And in it there shall be the first end.
And in it a man shall be saved. And after it is ended unrighteousness shall grow up, And a law shall be made for the sinners.

Enoch and the 8 weeks

No its not the same.

The coming of Messiah is prophesied in the 6th week:

[sup]8[/sup]And after that in the sixth week all who live in it shall be blinded,
And the hearts of all of them shall godlessly forsake wisdom.
And in it a man shall ascend;
And at its close the house of dominion shall be burnt with fire,
And the whole race of the chosen root shall be dispersed.

The "blinded" part refers to spiritual blindness on the part of the religious leaders of the Jews. They refused to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah.

"Forsaking wisdom" is said to be their sin. The first temple was destroyed due to idolatry. The second temple was destroyed because they did not wisely recognize the time of the coming of the Messiah.

"In it a man shall ascend". Enoch was a man who ascended, but this is a future prophesy of a man ascending which Jesus the Messiah did when He sat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

The rest of the verse is self-evident.

By the way, there are not "8 weeks" in Enoch's "Apocalypse of Weeks", but 10.

Consider that the antichrist [left-hand covering cherub] must manifest first with the 'face of a man' and die a mortal death at the return of the true Messiah/Christ... that the two covering cherubim look identical ...

Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Ezekiel 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

Ezekiel 41:19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.

1 Kings 6:32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm trees.

Revelation 11:3 ¶ And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Zechariah 4:3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
...
Zechariah 4:11 ¶ Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
...
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

James 5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Is the implication not that the last of remnant few of the House of Israel and the House of Judah will die in Jerusalem and be translated from there after resurrectiion?

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil

Colossians 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Who disobey , those who do not love as Jesus commanded , those who continue to sin ... and are thus left behind at Jesus' return :-

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luke 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Enoch 105:1-2 "In those days the Lord bade them to summon and testify to the children of earth concerning their wisdom: Show it unto them; for ye are their guides, and a recompense over the whole earth.

For I and My Son will be united with them for ever in the paths of uprightness in their lives; and ye shall have peace: rejoice, ye children of uprightness. Amen."

This one counts as evidencing a spirit of prophecy in the same way as Psalm 2:12 and Proverbs 30:4. Psalms, Proverbs and Enoch evidence the spirit of prophecy by their knowledge of the existence of the 2nd person of the Trinity before His incarnation.

Psalm 2:12, "Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him."

Proverbs 30:4, "Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his Son’s name? Surely you know!"

"Then shall the kings and the mighty perish" Enoch 38:5.

Throughout the Book of the Parables, a group being singled out for judgment is "the kings and the mighty and the exalted and those who rule the earth", (Enoch 62:9). This group is a major focus of the Book of the Parables, and are dscribed variously in 38:5, 46:4, 53:5, 54:2, 55:4, 62:1,3,6,9, 63:1,12, and 67:8,12.

In Enoch 56:3-4, they are referred to as the "beloved ones" of the Watchers, which identifies them as the Watchers' offspring who oppress mankind in Enoch 7. (See also 10:12, 12:6 and 14:6).

This is the same group written about by Moses who uses phraseology similar to Enoch's in these words, "These were the mighty men, who were of old, men of renown". (Genesis 6:4)

The Book of the Parables, informs us these Watcher children had ruled the earth of their time, and they are destined at some future time to be finally judged by the Son of Man, seated on the throne of His glory. This saga, which began in the Book of the Watchers, with the prophesy of Enoch 10:12, that the final judgement of the Watchers and their children is to take place 70 generations from Methuselah, is fleshed-out here in the Book of the Parables as we are shown their judgment consummated at the judgement seat of Jesus Christ, the One born 70th from Methuselah.

The Book of the Parables spends quite a few chapters describing a heavenly being whom Enoch sees. Consider the following list of attributes Enoch assigns to this heavenly person. He is said to accompany the Ancient of Days,[sup](Enoch 46:2)[/sup] and is destined to become a light to the nations.[sup](Enoch 48:4)[/sup] This person, portrayed in imagery as a heavenly shepherd, is shown watering his flock by an “inexhaustible Fountain of Righteousness”.[sup](Enoch 48:1)[/sup] The name of this heavenly one is to be revealed by God only to His elect and it is in his name that they will be saved.[sup](Enoch 48:7)[/sup] It is also stated by Enoch this one existed before the creation of the world,[sup](Enoch 48:3)[/sup] and is destined to take his seat on a glorious throne for the purpose of judging the world,[sup](Enoch 45:3)[/sup] and it is God Himself who will seat this one on the throne of God’s own glory.[sup](Enoch 51:3)[/sup] Enoch states, ultimately the entire world will bow down before this heavenly one and worship him.[sup](Enoch 48:5)[/sup]

Obviously, the only person who fits the bill in all of these categories is Jesus Christ, who lived, died, rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father, from where he will come again to judge the living and the dead!

In Enoch, we learn a lot about the identity of this heavenly person from the titles by which he is known. Enoch calls him the Righteous One,[sup](Enoch 38:2)[/sup] the Elect One,[sup](Enoch 39:6)[/sup] God’s Anointed[sup](Enoch 48:10)[/sup] and the Son of Man.[sup](Enoch 46:2)[/sup]

The Resurrection of Jesus, the Righteous One

In Enoch 92:2-3 we read,

Let not your spirit be troubled on account of the times; for the Holy and Great One has appointed days for all things. And the Righteous One shall arise from sleep, and walk in the paths of righteousness, and all his path and conversation shall be in eternal goodness and grace.

In 1 Corinthians 15:20 we read,

Jesus “Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”

In the passage above from Enoch, using language which anticipates the New Testament, God’s people are encouraged not to be troubled in spirit for two reasons; first, God has appointed a time for all things, and second, the Righteous One will “arise from sleep”.

The disciples of the Jesus were certainly troubled in spirit when they saw him die. They did not realize God had appointed the day upon which Christ died. Later, they realized this was God’s plan to secure the forgiveness of sin for any who will believe in Jesus, the Righteous One.

The day on which Christ died was appointed by God; but it was also appointed that he would rise from the dead. This passage from Enoch is an exhortation to take courage because it is God’s plan that the Righteous One will rise from the dead.

Jesus is called the "Righteous One" in Isaiah 53:11, Acts 3:14, 7:52-53 and 22:14.

MY COMMENTS: According to Western scholars the older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) date from about 300 BC and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably was composed at the end of 1st century BC.
[From Wikipedia].

So, how can Enoch be assumed as writing these books, for he lived thousands of years before they were penned by some unknown?

So are you saying some unknown rabbi faked Enoch's name and yet wrote prophetically?

By the way, those same "Western scholars" doubt whether Jesus lived. Do you accept that?

the book of Enoc is not written by Enoc....walked with God and was gone....
the book of Enoc is written by Gnostic people
their are errors, discrepancies with other 66 books of the canon of the bible

there are many books that are not part of the bible for the same reason...some are called apocrypha, some deuterocanoconicals, some pseudopigraphs.....which are useful for context, history, culture, but not for doctrinal teaching...

Can we suppose you are ready to give a reasoned explanation why you believe this? or are we to just follow your pronouncements without any explanation as to why you hold this view? Are you Il Papa? :p
walked with God and was gone....
the book of Enoc is written by Gnostic people
There are no gnostic teachings of which I am aware in the book. However, I am always open to see new things. Please cite the chapter and verses from Enoch where we can find examples of gnostic teachings. From what I've read, gnosticism was a kind of commonly held world view of the people in the Greek-speaking world after the Church came about. The Book of Enoch does not show Greek influence, let alone gnostic, but again, please show us.

So let me know if I get you... the Apocrypha, and deuterocanonicals are "not part of the Bible"? I think a lot of people around this big old world may disagree with that.
