Jesus said that no one can come to him unless drawn by you. This troubles me. Does it mean that I must be made of iron? And what of those who are not drawn? Have you made them of some other material? Are those who are not drawn to you only fulfilling the nature that you have given them? And if so, are they not blessed?

Lord Magnet, do I have it wrong? Are we all, rather, made in your image? Are we all little magnets and we are drawn to you when our opposite poles align--our negative to your positive and our positive to your negative?

This is hard and I am small.

Someone had to suggest that we call you "Holy Mother." I mean, it's just the kind of thing that will get the fundies' undies in a bunch. After all, you revealed yourself to be Father. Jesus called you Father. That should pretty much be the end of it, shouldn't it?

But I know better. I know you better. You don't have X and Y chromosomes. You don't have external genetalia. You may have a grammatical gender, but you don't have a physical sex.

After all, you are Spirit.

And you have revealed yourself not only as Father, but as Holy Mother, too. Was it not you who gave birth to me by water and blood and paroxysms of pain? Is it not you who have fed me with your own body? You see? I know you better than to think that the name "Father" can contain you.

Fundies' Undies -- thank you for containing both our siblings' ability to create and their ability to mess up and stink.
