We will remember them.
I just got back from the Dawn service. I'm completely spent, but it was all worth it sharing that experience with fellow Aussies and Kiwis. When the Last Post sounded across a darkened Martin Place, I got chills. Just a couple of thoughts:
If our servicemen and women did not fight for us, as in WWI when they fought for Britain, they fought with us in their thoughts at the very, very least. They were people like you and me, not extraordinary people, but ordinary people in extraordinary situations (as a speaker this morning put it). It is fitting to honour their sacrifices today.
