Austrian Father Pleads Guilty to All Charges in Incest-Imprisonment Case

An Austrian man charged with imprisoning his own daughter and raping her repeatedly for 24 years has pleaded guilty to all charges in the case.

Josef Fritzl, 73, had entered a partial guilty plea earlier this week, denying charges of enslaving his daughter and murdering their newborn son.

But Fritzl told the court in the city of Sankt Poelten Wednesday that watching 11 hours of his daughter's videotaped testimony caused a change in heart and he decided to acknowledge his guilt on all charges.

Prosecutors say Fritzl locked his daughter, Elisabeth, in the cellar of his home starting in 1984 and raped her constantly, fathering her seven children.

He faces life in prison if convicted.

The murder charge stemmed from the death of one of the children shortly after he was born. Officials say the child might have lived if Fritzl had arranged for medical care.

Members of the public and the media had been barred from the courtroom while jurors viewed the tape.
Fritzl was arrested in April 2008, when one of his imprisoned children, a 19-year-old woman, became ill and was hospitalized.

She was one of three children who had lived their entire lives in an underground dungeon with their mother.

Fritzl's lawyer, Rudolph Mayer, had said that his client cared for his daughter and their children like a second family.

Repeating the message "Pedophiles have nothing to fear from the police"

Contrast the production to sell Fritzl with the McCanns theater, where both parents were used to pass the same message of TOTAL impunity for parents who kill their children.
In this case while Joseph Fritzl is used in the previously described agendas, the role of passing that message is assigned to his wife, who is not accused of anything, while even the last idiot understands that it would be impossible, from any point of view, from construction of the dungeon to logistics, that she would not be in the know.
