Your picture reminds me of the way that Mrs. Redguard holds Roseguard when she decides to have her in bed with us.

I get nervous when I come to bed and find that she's placed Roseguard in the middle. That's not to say that I'm one of those doofus "roll on top of the baby" husbands that you're all talking about :D. Co-sleeping, in general, just makes me nervous. I'll even get up in the middle of the night to make sure that the baby is still safe and breathing. 80% of the time, however, she's on the outside of the bed. And we only have her in our bed maybe 50% of the time.

gracepaints, thank you thank you thank you! I think you have successfully helped me solve the mystery of how I can continue to cosleep with a preschooler and a newborn (God willing that will be in the near future). I always hated the dip from my bed into the cosleeper. I expected there to be an even surface from the cosleeper's mattress and my matt and I was surprised when there wasn't. I'm going to write this down for future reference.

PS what a great pic :) I have a ton of cosleeping pics myself. I love cosleeping with my child, it has been such an endearing experience for our family. No doubt we would have a completely different dynamic had we not coslept.

How have I missed this thread all this time? :D

We're 9 months into cosleeping... all is pretty much well. We got new bed supports given to us by my DH's grandmother (by marriage - not blood), and a new mattress for me. I am so happy, because NOW I finally am relaxing. The baby fits better in the middle, and still picks and chooses sides to sleep on at night.

He always starts in the middle and gravitates towards me or DH. Me for food, DH for warmth... DH is really great about co-sleeping too. He was asking if we are gonna stop anytime soon, or if we should just get a daybed or something to hitch up to the other side of the bed for the baby to sleep in when he's older. :D

I didn't have an answer, I still find it so funny ;)

Hey ladies.

I plan on co sleeping when this bub comes. For several reasons (the biggest being I think it will be easier breast feeding.)

I have a question to the co sleepers here.
1- has anyone used the Arms Reach Co Sleeper? If so, do you like it? Is it worth getting?
2- even though you are csing, did you still get a crib? Or are you skipping the crib and going from your bed to toddler bed?
3- Was anyone crazy enough to get the arms reach co sleeper AND crib :sorry:

We couldn't get a co-sleeping side car, it won't work with our bed sadly... :(
We did get a crib, he was mostly sleeping there (half time) until 3 months. He plays in it, so we call it the crib/playpen equally. It's more of a playpen actually. LOL

Friends of ours got the cosleeping side-car (I can't remember the brand, it's a really good German one that later can be a desk or seat for preschoolers) and a crib. Funny thing, they co-sleep. :D ;) Right now they also have the same playpen we do, set up in their livingroom as an extra crib, since they alternate what room they are in with the baby at night depending on how bad his colic is.

I missed the thread too. We are currently co-sleeping with our 2.5 year old. I don't have any specific plans to move him out. I start him off in his bed but he pretty much moves to mine when I go to bed. Something about knowing his "Mama" is in the room. His Dad can go to bed before me and he rarely wakes up, but the minute I lay my head down he's popping up and moving in.

We're co-sleepers!!

We have the arms reach co sleeper- which is basically a glorified hamper :D She sleeps mostly in my or DH's arms. Sometimes if she's particularly fussy I'll sleep on the couch with her so DH can get a good sleep. It's tough but it sure beats having her waaaaaaay down the hall.

Abel still starts out in his crib, but when he wakes up (somewhere between 3- 5) I bring him to bed with us. That's the only time he'll nurse, so I'm happy. :) lol Then he'll pass out again until it's time to get up for the morning. DH has always been cool with the kids sleeping by us, so he loves it when he wakes up to Abel whacking his face with his hand. LOL

I'm happy to report DS has been moved out of the family bed for good. I'm high risk this pregnancy so we can't risk him kicking my belly. He has also begun sleeping through the night as in from bed time until 10-12 hours later in one go. The first night I woke up in a panic sure he'd stopped breathing.

My kiddo's growing up! :D
