Did anyone else notice that they seemed to look better after the 3 years - like Sawyer and Juliette looked almost younger...

I'm guessing that is because of diet. They were living on whatever they could find. Dharma has good food.

I agree,

I don't think Locke and Ben etc. are in the past, just the ones that disappeared in the flash prior to the plane going down. Kate Hurley Jack, (and whoever else). I'm not so sure about Sun, Did anyone mention if she disappeared?

Ilana said Frank left in an outrigger with a woman. I'm assuming the woman is Sun.

And where the hell are Rose and Bernard?

The baby: if this is someone we know, he should be about 27 or so at the time of the 816 crash.

So who is a white male in that age range that we don't know the birth origin of yet? Boone?

I think older than that. They said it was 1977 when the baby was born, and it's 2007 when 816 crashes. So I'm thinking maybe Desmond, or maybe they'll throw us all for a loop and it'll be Daniel.

I was thinking Des or ....Charlie.

The plane went down in 2004. Remember Ben told Jack about the Red Sox winning the World Series and about Bush's re-election (both occurred in November 2004).

My husband and I were chatting about Lost this morning, and I think he's stumbled on to something that is potentially BIG.

And it all revolves around Richard Alpert and his "eyeliner".

First, he mentioned how Sawyer called him that the other night, then he mentioned about the statue, and we know it's from Egypt. I said Richard's been time travelling a looong time.

My husband's theory is that Richard actually influenced the "look" of the eyelined Egyptians, and that he's the reason they did that to their eyes. We think he was purposely picked for the role because he naturally looks like that.

And then....I said...think of his name "Richard Alpert"...his initials are R-A. Ra is the head Egyptian God.

So, what do you guys think?

That's what I was going to say about the eyeliner. :p Yes, it was a funny off hand remark by Sawyer, but nothing is accidental on this show. Egyptians were obsessed with eternal life. I think it all plays in nicely.

Lol, I got to admit I was REALLY surprised to see something happening between Sawyer and Juliet! I even said I think on this forum a couple of episodes ago that I couldn't see it happening! Oh well...

Yeah, I hope this whole love triangle between Kate, Jack and Sawyer doesn't start again...it is getting a bit old now.

I thought it was an amazing episode!! Although I missed the first 10 mins, and was doing other stuff while it was on so may have missed some stuff. I've recorded it though and I'm going to re watch this episode again tomorrow :D

We get to analyse this one to death guys, seeing as they're not showing another episode for a fortnight now! How rude :(

Just wanted to say....I don't read Lostpedia...never have, as I'm concerned about spoilers.

Tonight, we re-watched last week's show with our son who's home from college and had missed it. He wanted to look up Richard Alpert and I googled him...and noticed that someone on Lostpedia also has a theory about Richard and the god Ra.

It also occurred to us tonight, that Horus and Horace are basically the "same" name. Sorry if anyone else prev. mentioned that...I didn't read back.

My call is some of the lostaways get out of the 70's as a side effect of 'the incident' which had the Dharma crew so badly spooked. Something to do with the Swann Station. I suspect the lostaways are directly responsible for 'the Incident'. Not sure how, exactly, but even though he is in 2007 and not 1977, I am almost willing to bet that Locke is instrumental in this somehow.

I also find myself wondering if one or two of them might not end up massacred with most of the rest of the Dharma initiative.

The whole 'truce' thing between the Dharma folks and the Others is also interesting. Especially as it seems dangerously unstable.

I don't believe that Richard Alpert is a time traveler like the lostaways; rather he knows it can be done, and probably has a better idea of the exact mechanics involved than anybody except maybe Daniel.

Watched it last night, and probably need to rewatch it today. My brain is still reeling!

A couple of seasons ago hubby wanted to cut the episodes and put them in a straight time-line - with the flashbacks and everything. I asked him last night how he thought that'd work now, he just looked at me and laughed.
^_^

I'm wondering "who" the baby is....or if the point was showing that Juliette could be part of a healthy birth on the island, and nothing more. Although with Lost...a lot of time was spent on Amy and her situation and having the baby....so, he's probably someone we know. And notice...even back then, the women were leaving the island to give birth...hmmmm.
I totally thought the baby was going to be Charlotte. I was just waiting for them to reveal that, and then Sawyer had to ruin my theory by saying it was a boy. :p

I loved that moment when Dan saw her running and playing as a little girl, though. That would be so weird!

Did anyone else notice that they seemed to look better after the 3 years - like Sawyer and Juliette looked almost younger...
Juliet looked way better. Maybe just because she was cleaned up a little, though. Hah.

I personally don't see any "spark" in the romance between Sawyer and Juliet...they seem awkward together.
I don't, either. I was disappointed in that, to be honest...even though I knew it was coming. I wish they had at least developed that romance a little more before the two got together. However, I don't like Juliet at all, so that may be why it annoys me so much. She's a know-it-all and always so calmly demanding. Bothers me. :sorry:

When Daniel spoke to Desmond in the hatch and told him to go find his mother, Desmond suddenly had a memory/dream about that.

So if Sawyer and the others were already on the island in the same time line of what happened happened, I wonder if he would have remembered it at some point during his stay on the island right after the plane crashed.

Interesting. I thought even back in season 1 that Locke remembered being there before. Just because of the way he was acting, like he knew bits and pieces about what was going on...the scene that's coming to mind is his calmness when he's sitting on the beach eating the orange. Perhaps this is why he seemed so unaffected.

I am with the others on here who have speculated that the Lostaways probably have something to do with "The Incident." I just hope Sun (wherever and whenever she is) finds Jin if they're going to kill him off. I love Jin...he was so nice to offer to carry Paul's body for Amy.

Sawyer is so much more kind and way less rough around the edges now. I'm not sure if I like that or not. ^_^ I knew he was going to be LeFleur and was just waiting for the camera angle to change so we could see him on the other side of the door. So cool!

I wish Kate would do something about her hair. It's weird in that huge braid thing. And I hope they don't continue to beat the whole love-rectangle/square...I'm a little tired of all that to be honest.

Sorry I've been "incognito" from Lost threads of late, but I haven't been on CF much or for long this year. I'm bumping this thread because it was the location of my last Lost rep and it was fun to read through the questions and speculation now that most of them have been answered.

Way to tease us with that statue...
That was the 2nd best tease sence the season 2 finale and made tonights partial reveal all the more fulfilling.

Okay the cross. From Lostpedia:

They look up and see the back of a gigantic statue (notice what the statue is holding - it is the cross-looking symbol with a loop on top. The statue is the Egyptian god of renewal, Horus, whose symbol appears later in the episode with Paul's necklace).

Click this link to view the image, and it can be clicked again from there to make it big enough to see the cross in the statue's hand.

The statue was holding an Ankh and as they panned out it didn't look to me like it was Horus, but Sobek. If there are any caps around, check out the face.

And where the hell are Rose and Bernard?

:)
