Woah, Pegasus, how scary! Thank God that the doctors were able to get your baby to stay in the womb. What do you do for work?

Pegasus, you seem so calm as you talk about it. Were you scared at all? Also, what is your employer doing to ensure you are safe from future attacks?

Ok, it's official. My son has finally weaned at almost 4 years old (he's turning 4 this month). It was not really expected at all. He just decided one morning that he didn't want to nurse and that was that. Compared to how difficult it was to begin our nursing relationship, I feel blessed that the transition was such a sweet one. I'm happy for him and yet I feel sad about the weaning at the same time. It will be interesting to see how our relationship evolves from here.

well I almost became a NICU mommy last night. I went into preterm labor last night, well around 2:30pm, labor was stopped medically by terb at 8:00pm and I was sent home at 10:00pm. Contrations started off irratic, so I called my ob he said to go to L&D and get and NST done and it showed the contractions between 5 to 3 minutes, getting regular at 3 minutes. Baby started hiding from the monitor so they had to keep coming into find her. Her heartrate went from 150's to 190's almost 200 when they gave me the terb. oh my! HUGGGGS! i am sorry you had to go through such an ordeal. Why was someone assaulting you? yikes! I am glad they were able to stop the labor for you!

Congratulations to DS on his milestone! Very cool that you lasted so long and he was able to self wean so easily! thats great! You did a good job mommy!

Update on me and anna.

anna is now 22 mos and we are still nursing. I STILL have never healed up. i STILL have scabs on both breasts. it STILL hurts every time she nurses. Since she nurses so many times a day my breasts just don't have the opportunity to heal i guess. Its been well over a month now that i have been in pain everyday..i am just USED to it now..it seems normal to be in pain when i nurse.

i have learned to say no at times i get in too much pain so she doesnt nurse quite as often and sometimes in the middle of the night i put a stop to nursing after her 3rd time up because it just gets too painful. I am trying to figure out whether to wean or not..i just don't know.

part of me wants to night time wean her first. Still not sure.

RTM, does lanolin help any?
Another idea is the breastmilk itself. I have had scabs from being bitten, and for the sake of Jonathan not liking the Lanolin so much, I rubbed BM on it and that seemed to help the healing process. Air also helps....

I had a breast infection over the weekend (flu-like symptoms, huge red lump, the whole shebang) and now my supply has Tanked. I'm so bummed... I wanted to pump for Abel for a whole year, and now it looks like I may be stopping earlier because I can't pump enough now from the side that was infected~ and that was my Good side.

Aw jgonz, I'm so sorry to hear that. But think about how much he HAS received. You did and are doing a great job
