Here we go, found a digital Oxford Textus Receptus for John. Just as I thought, rather ambiguous:
(Strongs 2532) kai kahee apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
Obviously it’s and, also, both.
I don't understand the Greek Syntax either....are we supposed to?
:o
Well it helps to get acquainted with it, I mean to reference the old manuscripts. Like just recently I was explaining that one of the three angels that appeared to Abraham was actually the pre-incarnate Christ. Abraham called him Jehovah, and then called him Adonay (Proper name for God), he was Yahshua aka Jesus in our English.
Your parallel with the NWT is that New World Translation? (Jehovah's Witness)
Yeah that one, it was captured. Unfortunately, the person then wanted to bury mother first...
Their fear of being excommunicated from family is a really tough barrier to crack, but seeds were planted at least, though I don't know what happend with that since they moved away soon after.
That was a really weird experience too, she was a friends girlfriend, and the Lord told me that she was wrapped up in a false teaching. When I approached her about it, it turned out that she was a JW. That was a long time ago, back when I was learning how to discern/pre-discern things. They moved to San Diego together, lost track. Anyway yeah, she handed over all her material, even this one real old NWT that has John 1:1 without the "a god". She took some books with her, I don't remember which ones I gave her now. *Contemplating old friends* Chris and Shawna. :melancholy:
