We cuddle until we both fall asleep, then it's anyone's guess what each of us will do. Sometimes we'll do the touchy body parts thing, other times we're butt-to-butt, other times we are on opposite sides of the bed. We sleep on a California king bed, due to hubby's height (6'3"), so there can be quite a bit of distance between us.

I don't find where it reflects our relationship, although if he's gassy, I'll make him sleep in another room. Yeah, that causes stress :sorry:

It depends on the season. I am the furnace in our relationship and hubby is usually cold. So..in the winter he is like a tick and I am burning up. LOL

In the summertime, we stay as far away from each other as possible UNLESS we can afford the power bill that comes with having the air turned down to 'arctic blast' at night.

I don't think it's a reflection of our relationship as much as it is a reflection of our tolerance of hot and cold. LOL

Wow,
I can't believe how many of you get so hot while you sleep. I am always freezing cold so I snuggle up close to my hubby at night. He is always nice and warm. Once we actually fall alseep though, I think we both roll to the opposite sides of the bed .

We cuddle for a bit, and then roll over to the edges. Mainly b/c I need my space in order to fall asleep as I'm a light sleeper. Also, we have a 'german' bed, in that it's two single mattresses in a big frame, so it's to all intents and purposes two beds. That's quite good for us as there is quite a weight difference between us and I'd be woken up perpetually whenever J turns over with the mattress moving.

With different sprung bases and different mattresses, it's not so much an issue. The snoring though... :D

We have a full (double) bed, so it's rather small, so we've gotten really good at snuggling. We generally snuggle when we get to bed, then he'll roll over after a while, which in the winter, I'm not too keen on, because he keeps me really warm! Then we snuggle again in the morning for 15 minutes or so before we get out of bed, which makes a nice start to the day. :)

Do you sleep cuddled up together, or completely separate on other sides of the bed?

Do you think this is a reflection of your relationship?

Mostly separate. Sometimes with kids sneaking in during the night. I've awoke to find the entire house in bed (the two kids and both dogs).

I don't think it's in any way reflective of our relationship, really.

We need a king-size bed instead of our queen-size. I for one need a lot of room because of chronic pain. I'm hard to sleep with, for the tossing and turning I do trying to find a position that doesn't hurt. That, and hubby Mike is another one of those furnaces that have been mentioned....

Kind of like others have said, we're cuddled while awake but roll over semi-separate when asleep.

Anyway, the two cats crowd hubby, who crowds me while rolling over in his sleep to keep the cats from crowding him, and I end up on the very edge of the bed ready to fall any minute.

FWIW: I've heard that the most secure relationships are those who sleep back to back, with only their feet or their rears touching. This makes sense to me, since there's no "grabbing on, afraid you'll leave me if I let go," but there's also no "you have your side, I have mine, and I'll just pretend you're not here."

we try to fall asleep holding each other, but if we're uncomfortable, we go to opposite sides of the bed. also, we hold each other in the morning after the alarm goes off and we hit snooze a few times.

i think it does reflect our relationship. we enjoy being affectionate and loving towards each other, and in general we just want to be near one another. :D

WELL,

I pity my lovely wife. NOW, we cuddle when we get into bed, and we're wrapped up in each other nice and tight and cuddle for a while. I am the one who cranks out the most heat, but there are times when her furnace kicks in and we're just sweating buckets and it's off to the edges of the bed. Nary a foot touches then, cuz it's just too warm. Lately, since our marriage has been restored, we can't get enough of each other in bed, there has to be something touching, even if it's our long hair intertwining on the pillows. Does it say something about the nature of our marriage? For us, yes. When we were separating and going our separate ways, we didn't touch hardly at all. There was the odd kiss, the odd hug, maybe a foot, but that was about it. Then I moved out of the bedroom to the spare room in the basement where it was more conducive to our separate lifestyles (read, MY separate lifestyle) and the cool air was good for me. Add to that, I snored and ground my teeth badly for the past, ohhhhhhhhhh, 10 years or so since I had my first affair and my conscience was getting at me at nights.

BUT, now, since my conscience is clear, it's breaking old grinding habits and learning to relax, and my snoring rivals many a big chain saw, but, I love my wife, she loves me, and puts up with it. There's no place I'd rather be, than curled up with her in my arms.

Come to think of it, it's bedtime now, and she's headed there. I'm outta here!!! Waves...

We usually start out cuddling - with her sleeping cuddled up to me - and then separate when she's ready to fall asleep. Our ritual is she'll go "Let me sleep on your back!" - and then I flip over for her.

When she turns around to fall asleep - usually we keep our butts touching...hahaha I guess to keep that connection.
