There's a whole bunch of places that let you make websites for free...I think we actually have some threads in this forum about them...

You could also go to google and search "free websites."

But be aware you won't get much space and will either have banner or pop-up ads. :)

I use both geocities and angelfire. Since I make some of my pages offline and then upload them, that is when I use angelfire, instead of typing html all day. :) So, what exactly is it saying at geocities that they won't let you use your guestbook? I haven't had a problem with that. I have my guestbook up on my geocities page.

HTML is very easy to learn. It takes some time and patience to learn how to do it correctly but is very good to know if you want to make a web site. I know HTML and have made the website for my church. As far as making a guest book with HTML, that would be pretty hard. HTML isn't really made to do something like that. There are other languages that you can learn that you can do that with. You can also do a search on the internet for free guestbooks or free guestbook creators or something like that and should be able to find a fairly good amount. Then you just have to make the choice of which one makes one that you like and will work for you.

Well, first of all, don't make a web page unless you're willing to learn HTML. Brinkster looks pretty good. I wouldn't use it because I *must* have PHP, but it looks good if you just want an HTML website.

If you look hard enough, there are EXCELLENT web hosts with NO ads. However, they usually will not have extra features (i.e. PHP/MySQL/ASP/CGI/etc).

Tsaxgurl317 if you really want to learn HTML than the best way to do this if you do not want to take an actual class on it is to do a search on the web for tutorials. Study it and take your time. Also, look at the source of many various pages to learn from that. I am starting to make a HTML tutorial and if you would like help than I would be glad to help you in any way that I could.

html isn't that hard. it's when you get into css and javascript that it becomes a little more difficult. it just takes time (lots of it) and patience. if it doesn't work the first time don't get mad. walk away then return to it once you've cooled down enough to mess with it some more. i used to have a whole list of free webhosting but once my brother offered to host me i forgot them all. sorry.

Thanx for this recommendation.  I just moved my site onto Brinkster cuz I hate pop ups (and tripod has two of them) and banners would absolutely ruin my site.
