Please note that Obama states that no part of his team was involved in any deals. He did not claim that they had no contact. He did not even claim that no member of his team talked to Blago about the seat.

All that has been proven is in America reading comphrension is a dying art. He is refering to himself as in "I" did not have no contact, which is the same as didn't have any contact. And with regard to his aides, he said this, "I am confident that no representative of mine would have any part in any deals related to this seat" and not an absolute claim that no one now on his staff had no contact.

Ahh yes. So if Obama said "I went to the bathroom" he may actually be referring to one of his aides having gone to the bathroom. It is no longer possible for Obama to refer to himself exclusively.

Seems he was asking for a deal. (not an illegal one, but a deal)

We should not jump to conclusions, but Obama should not say something
on the spur of the moment when he hadn't checked with his crew.

Had Obama said, "I nor my staff engaged in any illegal deal making with blago" it wouldn't be hard to believe.

I would suggest waiting, but keep the attention on Obama's report. It does seem to be a convienant time to release a report, the week of Christmas when people are most distracted.

I don't believe this will be forgotten even if Obama releases it next week.

Ummmmm, no. "I" means him and only him. "I" doesn't mean him or his aides. If he was referencing his aids he would have said "We" or "My aides" or any number of other things. You can't redefine the English language to suit your attacks.

Last time I checked, there was a presumption of innocence in our legal system. When someone is acquitted, the jury doesn't pronounce them "innocent", they declare them to be "not guilty".
