Do you read because you enjoy it or do you read because you think that's what intelligent people do?

I don't know about her, but I'm am a nerdy book lover:D. They are my favorite way to escape reality, especially with how craptastic tv shows tend to be.

I started reading Wicked last night. It's weird, but interesting so far.

I just started The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. I realized that I've never finished the whole Narnia series (shame, I know) so I'm starting from the beginning and going through it in the proper order.

I loved that book. The movie was just as good.

Right now I am reading East by Edith Pattou, a retelling of the fairy tale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" for teens. I'm also halfway through The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe again. And uhh... I still have to finish Jane Eyre, which I love.

I can't concentrate on one thing at a time.

Starting with The Magician's Nephew, I hope.

I'm currently between books. Just finished The Guardian King series by Karen Hancock. Awesome. A little violent, but that's ok. The story is amazing!

Not sure what I'll read now. Don't really have much time, anyway. :/

Maybe after Christmas. :D

Ooh, I love those books! My favorite is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I can't wait to see the movie! :D

Starting with The Magician's Nephew, I hope.

The Magician's Nephew spoils everything about Narnia, leaving a lot of the mystery out of the rest of the books. I know Lewis preferred to put that book first but technically it fits better in sixth place, so that's where I'm placing it.

I went to the library today and picked up Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald. I've only read a few pages so far, but it seems really good. It's about a 27 year old woman from Iran who comes to America. She is amazed at some of the simple things that Americans take for granted. Iran is a very restrictive country and her parents sent her to the US hoping that she'd never come back and find a way to stay (and be happy) in the US.

What are your favorite kinds of books?
In non-fiction, I like to read travel/nature books and books on self-improvement.
In fiction, I like to read Jane Austen novels, some mild romantic novels, Harry Potter and early English or Victorian era books too.
I prefer "paper" books more than e-books.:p
And you, May I know what kind of books you like to read?

WHAT

What are you talking about, boy? I always read The Magician's Nephew first, and I don't think it spoils anything! I think it enhances the Narnia experience! It's my favourite one.

It's just weird the way the book refers to Aslan as if we already know who he is. The characters in the book know a lot about who he is and what Narnia is like, taking a lot of the mystery out of the other books as they unfold. I like the way everything's introduced in TLTWATW better because the unfolding of Narnia just feels more natural and magical. It's all personal preference.:)
