I used to have long hair down to my waist, but it's so thick that it just got too heavy. So, a few months ago, I chopped 12 inches off and donated it. Now my hair is kind of between short and medium length, and I don't like it so much. I need to decide whether I want to cut it short again or grow it out.

My hair is long and I love having long hair. I chopped it off up to my shoulders as an act of defiance back in 2006 and have been regrowing it ever since. It's a couple of inches shy of being halfway down my back. My goal is to have it halfway down my back again. It's been that long since my senior year of HS.

ETA - it's also very curly, which I love...but God bless the person who invented the flatiron b/c I really like it straight, too. :D

Unless she has cancer or something, I think anyone I would be in a relationship with would need to have hair that at least goes down to the upper part of their neck and covers their ears.

I very much prefer medium to long hair over some of the short haircuts that look like men's haircuts.

I don't think I would ever wear or have long hair.

I'm infamous for constantly changing my hair. I usually grow it for a year or two, then chop it all off, then start over again, and just do that again and again. I don't like being bothered by having to constantly trim a style or go to the hair salon all the time. It's long right now, and I'm getting the "CUT IT OFF" urges.

I think long hair LOOKS the best on most women (unless they have really bad hair, lol). But as far as having to wear that hair...long hair is a pain in the behind.

:DI'm a threadin fool today! Hey, I got questions ok?

So ladies, do you have long hair or short hair?

Mens, do you prefer long hair or short hair?

Why?

I have.. long-ish hair :D

My husband actually prefers shorter hair but I will not cut it again for that reason (edit: clarification, I won't cut it again just because I think he might like it better ) :D I'm guilty for cutting it in the past for that reason but I really believe women should have long hair.

Now, my husband has short hair right now, but he has had long hair in the past, and I know he wants to grow it out again. I'm kinda hoping I can sway him against it one of these days :p I mean, he does look great with long hair but the "interim" period where it's "not short but not long" is not his hair's greatest of moments ^_^ So I'm not looking forward to that

Eh, overall, it doesn't really matter. But I want mine to grow out way long from now on like I had when I was younger. I really dislike short hair and boy-cuts on women though. But it's each person's choice, so whatever they like right ^_^

I have pretty long hair. It's over halfway down my back. Last night I couldn't sleep and was watching the Disney Channel and I saw Ashley Tisdale on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and I was like OHMYGOSH THATS THE HAIR I WANT. Looked similar to this:

With the gentle waves and stuff. I totally need to learn to style my hair like that and I'd be a happy camper.

My personal pros and cons of hair:

Long hair - pros:

Looks sexy
You can flip it around and make it flow in the wind
Can wear it in a variety of styles

Long hair - cons:

Bathtub drain (need I say more)
Hairs stuck all over your clothes, sweaters, jackets
Hair blowing in your face (I HATE THAT)
Hair getting caught in car windows, etc (mine gets caught in my seat belt buckle lol)
Takes hours to dry after a shower

Short hair - pros:

Dries fast
Easy to manage, requires little brushing, styling, etc
No clogged drains
No spidery hairs clinging to your clothes
Cute as opposed to sexy

Short hair - cons:
If you hate it, you have to wait for it to grow
Fewer styling options

Should I cut it? Should I?? I think I might...:wringing hands:

I completely agree. I love the way my hair looks long (which is why it's still growing longer) but the hairs everywhere, taking forever to dry it, and especially the hair blowing in my face are a pain.

Nice list. You forgot Head feels like its carrying 10 extra pounds. :D

I went through the same thing a few months ago. If you plan ahead, figure out exactly what style you'd want it and how short it needs to be, think about keeping it out of your face (if it's too short for a ponytail, barettes work well), etc. If it's long enough, maybe consider donating it to make wigs or something. Then...just do it.
It was such a relief when I finally did!
