In case of the sneaking "Christian" who really is a satanist and the dragon speaks for this secretly? :p

Seems you are taking life quite harshly... Lighten up. A dragon is still a cool mystical beast, I hardly think of evil or satan when I think of a dragon. Dragons also represent wealth and power...

Lighten up... lol Seriously!

A pet is just that--a pet.

IRL I've had snakes for pets. It wasn't because they were "serpents" and symbols of Satan. It's because they are fascinating animals.

Here's one of my CF "pets." When I see her, I think more in terms of how much time it took to get her leveled up and on the top list.

Hey, how's it going?

CF dragons are just virtual pets. If you want to get picky about it, cats are strongly associated with some rather unpleasant stuff, but no one has cats here or IRL because they're wanting an emissary of evil.

There's nothing wrong with being cautious with my walk with God.

This is something I heard from a pastor. I'm not sure if I got the story exactly right, but it's something like this. There was a woman who was facinated with dragons and had dragons everywhere in her house. She always had bad things happen to her, so her pastor came to her house and saw all the dragons. He said, "No wonder these things are happening. Get rid of the dragons." So she got rid of them and her problems seemed to disappear.

Try not to live religiously and live as if there's a devil under every stone. You look paranoid and from those looking in, why would they want to live like evil is lurking at every corner? Honestly I'd laugh and walk away if I were at that stand point.

We live lives of peace and love... and best of all life is easy and fun. I'm not saying DRINK AND BE MERRY! But being overly cautious like worrying about petty things such as symbolism. A ring on your finger could represent selling your soul to satan but you wouldn't know. God made us to enjoy life and reading too much into something... isn't enjoyable, its stressful.

As far as the dragon lady, I question if she wasn't idolizing the dragons. It wasn't the dragons alone, but the idol she made them to be. As you can see here it was in her head and sin, not the dragon itself.

If you want to be careful with your walk, watch your line of thinking right now. As it may be a stumbling block not only for yourself, but those who you are living an example for.

(I'm not speaking as a petRESCUER here)

IMHO it's good to watch out...and if there are things that might be a stumbling block to someone but are ok for others I think instead of calling that person over-religious we should respect their opinion and try not to do things that might make them stumble....that's how I undertsand what Paul was on about eating unpure meat and so on...even if it's alright for me to do I should not do it if it makes my brother/sister stumble or hinders them in their walk with God...

as far as the dragons are concerned: I don't think there's much we can do about them :sorry: they seem to be the most popular of the pets on here....I have to say that I personally am not that happy with the whole new pet system myself - battles, mythical creatures (though I quite like dragons to be honest) and in the beginning they even had spells  this somehow doesn't seem to be the right system for a christian website - but again there isn't much I can do but try to only use it in a way acceptable for me....

if you don't like the dragons on here just ignore them - don't get involved with them...that's about the only thing you could do about them since I don't think they will remove the mythical creature pets....we only got them cause they were part of the programm...try to think of them as what they are - a collection of pixels

Cant both be accomidated? There are those of us that want dogs and plain pets not myhical beasts. While I am sure that many did not leave because of this it is worth considering that a fair amount left when all the things that Erwin had worked so hard to establish disappeared so did a lot of users. I had a St Bernard before the change, if you notice I now have no pet and I am not happy about that any more than I am happy about the list on front not being there and so many other things.

I understand, but all the pets here are pretend pets. I have seen the old pets, and the new pets look more realistic than the old ones, IMO, especially comparing them to a rock, venus flytrap, and a spider. They looked too animated to me. What do you think? I suppose this isn't the right thread to be discussing this issue anyway.

That "animation" you saw was actually the entire life span of a pet played in fast forward. It took months and years to reach all of those levels and some of them included if the pet wasn't fed, got sick and died. The current pets are way more animated than the old ones.

It is my understanding there was a plan to bring back the old pets and have both available. I'm not sure how they were planning to do that or if it will ever happen.

There is a new owner for CF that started today. So we will see what all he has planned. To start out he is going to work on the "to do list" that has been on hold since Erwin left.
