of my husbands love for me, they would have been gone after this friday. ;)

You see, I had of course heard of black friday, but never really understood it as a phenomenon. I knew that people went to shop, that there were deals for those who were there early and that was it.
I was not planning on plunging into a crowd, but I did need something from a store in St Louis that we simply do not have here.
So I convinced my husband to drive me to a mall around noon so I could buy said item.

It took over twenty minutes to simply get a parking spot and once we were in the parking garage we couldn't even say, this is crazy let's jsut drive back out and find this thing some other time. No, everything was blocked with bottlenecks, etc.
I didn't know. Now I do. I am never going to shop on Black friday again. My husband however understood. And he STILL drove me to the mall. THAT is sacrifical love!

Shopping is fun.. what is wrong with you ppl?? ^_^

No, really it's fun, crowds do not bother me, although I know how not to have to wait in line sometimes, but sometimes I do have to. It's all part of the experience.

We went to shop at the Catholic Shop in Harrisburg and one of my co-workers was confused and said: "They sell Catholics?" I said: "No we had to go there and register the new one." :)

The best time I ever had shopping on Black Friday was about 7 years ago. My wife's family is large. I was coordinator. I was at a table in the mall. And people would drop bags off with me and I would tell them the current locations of the rest of the family...misdirecting some if they were currently buying for the one asking. In about two hours I was guarding and sorting dozens of bags. I don't know why it was so fun...probably because my own family was so small.

You took Bill shopping, and then brought him to my parents house?!? Poor thing. ;) It was great to see all of you by the way. And, my parents love, love, loved Joseph. They went on and on about what good parents you were and what a good boy he is.

We had great fun! It was wonderful that there was such a relaxed atmosphere, and the way your friends just removed him from the cabinet he had somehow managed to open. It's so great to be around people who are so used and loving of children that they feel free to just do what is needed instead of looking at you expectantly to rush over at every single step he takes. As you could see, he isn't shy at all. And both Bill and I had a great time. BTW, please tell your father that I loved the peppers?

I like shopping, and the crowds wouldn't bother me that much, but there seems such a grim 'gimme, let me get it' atmosphere wherever I went on that day. People don't seem to have fun shopping, but are just there to grab the loot. At least that's how it felt.

...oh yeah...forgot to say...eligable bachelors who also share Bill's great qualities...feel free to let me know who you are.

I share Bill's great qualities! ;) Actually, not really, but I never pass up an opportunity to mention that I am an eligible bachelor, as regular readers are no doubt well aware. ;)

LOL! Oh that made me smile. Bless you, bless you, bless you. If only i were 14 years younger :D

It's hard to be patient, i know, but it just means that when you meet the person God has planned for you, she is going to be more than you could have ever hoped for. The way i look at it is that either i am not ready to meet someone or that special someone isn't ready to meet me just yet. It's probably the latter. I am a lot to handle :D

Not really. It's the biggest shopping day of the year, so it's like training for a sports event. All year long you anticipate and then the big day comes, so it's like a challenge to get what you can for the best price.

I'll be honest, It's a little aggravating that we sale shoppers are now all greedy monsters. It's a unfair stereotype. Before ppl who shopped sales were called cheapolas who didn't want to pay for anything... now were greedy. We can't win for losing.

I am a big sale shopper myself, I love paying half price and looking for a deal. It actually is rare for me to pay full price for anything.
But what I saw on that day were not people who had trained for an event, etc. These were harried people out for loot. I am not saying everyone who shops the sales is like that, but there were enough people about willing to push me aside to get to a pair of half priced slippers for me not to want to shop anymore on that day.
