1 John 2:1
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.
John 14:26
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representativethat is, the Holy Spirithe will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
Our Advocate doesn't plead for you until you repent. He asks the Father's forgiveness because you have come back to the cross of Christ.
That is what Scripture teaches.
Actually no...nothing is said there about repenting before Christ can be our advocate! It says 'if anyone does sin'...it doesn't say 'if anyone does sin and then repents'. You're adding to it.
