I would appreciate some advice. I work full-time, but I've always thought it would be cool to learn about radio stations and maybe do some radio work myself as a hobby. I love to listen to radio shows (informational and news, NOT controversial talk shows).
So I have been taking a class at the local junior college and it's been interesting. But now comes the decision point -- Do I actually want to invest the time to REALLY get into it as a hobby? If so, I need to go through a training program that will take maybe 4-6 months and will be time intensive. (Equal to one work day each week, basically.)
The upside of doing it is that I would be equipped to do radio work afterward. And the timing is good because I have just finished the radio class.
The possible downside is that it will take a LOT of time!!!! That's time during which I would not be doing ministry, or having a social life, or relaxing from my full-time job.
What questions would you be asking if you were me, and trying to make this decision?
Thank you for any help you can give. I am also praying about it, but thought it might help to get some feedback too.
