The whole Christmas holiday is controversial, from the pagan roots man adopted it from, to the tale of Santa Clause. The bible says nothing of a specific date on Jesus birthday nor did it mention a continuing tradition in celebration. None of us were there that day which makes all stories and songs circumstantial. I didnt take this thread about that though, if it is then my mistake.
My GF recently purchased a Catherdral Choir CD for a fiver, this is the most moving carol for me at Christmas.
What gets a bee in my bonet is when I walk into a shop and hear slade and the same last 20 yrs of Christmas Music, the only songs that punch a hole in the secular music is Cliff who at least has a go. I hope that some secular band will get of its backside and produce something new and unique and gratifying to the Christmas theme the only reason I think they don't and won't is that they feel it would be unpc and cause upset. PC and freedom of speech seems to benefit religion and not Christianity (woah horsey, am going off topic here).
