Really ?
Share some of them here with us so we can see if we can question those conclusions to death for you.
As I said, this is more about the question than it is the answer.
No worries.
Evolution is an accurate theory. God affirms loving committed homosexual relationships. Jesus wants humans to be happy. Royal Australian Armoured Corps soldiers are the finest warriors in the world and RASigs the finest soldiers anywhere.
There's some conclusions. Question them to your hearts content.
Thats really nice, poster...and for those of us who HAVE read the whole bible and DO continually read it so that WE probably HAVENT missed much of it, if anything ?...are you going to concede the same sort of reasoning on our parts and admit that if we HAVENT missed anything on a given matter that there may not be any additional evidence to find ?
Nope. The possibility always exists that there is more evidence to find. We aren't merely discussing rote learning here, I'm sure that even if you took two people who had memorised the Bible, and knew it word perfect, chapter and verse and could recite it verbatim, even two such people would draw different conclusions about the Bible's inherent meaning. And they can't BOTH be right, can they?
Again...it doesnt matter what conclusion modern thinking comes to, it ALWAYS keeps pushing more questions so that there is NO such thing as objective truth....EVERY conclusion is subjective as it must be in that sort of mindset.
Every conclusion IS subjective, because all the tools we have that can reach them are subjective. It simply is not possible to eliminate subjectivity from any human thought process. That does not mean that there is not an over all, objective Truth out there... it just means that the best humans can do is approximate it. Some approximations are better than others, but ALL are subject to, well, subjectivity.
And WE HERE are discussing scripture.
I realize its hard for some here to grasp, but the bible only has so much data on AnY given topic...so...you know....there isnt some infinite stream of incoming data to constantly be on guard for.
Indeed, but we aren't merely discussing the information in the Bible, are we? We are also discussing interpretation, and the understanding of that information.
1+1=2 is (for the sake of argument) an objective truth. However, understanding WHY 1=1=2 is a totally subjective concept.
There is more to "Truth" than information, right?
Ive READ the bible, poster...I KNOW what it says about things like sex and marriage. There is nothing more to ADD except new revelation...and hopefully you know better than that....
Really? Don't you believe in the second comming? You don't think Jesus will give us new info when he comes again?
Explain for me, please, how two people can read the same passages and interpret them utterly differently?
