Bob Larson: fraud extraordinaire

You have to pay money to serve God and grant spiritual freedom, according to this page. . .    I can't believe that I used to believe this man.

This reminds me more of a scam than of my faith. How can people do things like this?

Wow! Only $4000 to be in the "special core of members"? Only $299 to attend a 2 day conference (meals, lodging and transportation not included, of course)? What bargains! What was I thinking going to church for free? I would be so much more powerful in God's eyes if I shelled out 4 g's to be a member of an elite spiritual group.

/me asks his wife where the checkbook is.

I'm not sure how people can do stuff like that.  But I believe it is important for us to pray for people like that so they may see what they're doing is wrong.  And we must pray for those who might bet swayed into believing that sort of thing...that they may see the truth.

I think even TBN has gotten tired of his stuff: they have moved him to 1:30 am on one day of the week. Keep in mind he used to be on around 7:00 or 8:00 PM at one time.

Also, his radio show has been canceled.

One more BL tidbit. . .

This "warning" on his site. Anytime I see this kind of thing, I indeed take it as a warning: a warning that there is probably something very dubious about the "ministry" in question.

SPECIAL NOTICE... In your effort to locate our web site, you may have encountered other sites devoted to attacking our ministry. Be aware that these sites contain misinformation, disinformation, twisted facts and outright lies. Many of these accusations are sinister distortions of reality and fabrications designed to look truthful. Our response is that of Nehemiah: "I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you (Nehemiah 6:3)?" To those who maliciously malign our efforts to reach the lost for Christ and see those in demonic bondage set free, we respond as our Savior commanded us. We "pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:44).

Is this like the "spiritual" version of "Legalese for Scammers?"

And before anyone posts, I have not posted this out of personal spite over his beliefs, I have posted this because I feel, as many others who have read that site and posted here do, that this man is committing fraud.

IOW, I am calling Mr. Larson a fraud and this sickening because of his highly deceitful and fraudulent practices that are more reminiscent of "religion-for-profit" in paganism or Middle Ages superstition than in orthodox Christianity. His beliefs are another matter, and while I disagree with many of them, I would never denounce someone personally as a fraud over what they honestly believe.

Um... Did any of you bother to find out what you would be paying for. It's a school. A place that you go to to take classes and learn something. The page that you were looking at was a discriptions of the ciriculum. How many of you spent more then that to pay for seminary. Maybe you think that all of the materials and teaching should be free so that the rent, electicity, saleries, equipment cost would not get paid. Didn't God institute the tithe to pay the salery of the priest?

I think that all of you need to do more research before you start judging people.

that is true. But as Paul says, a worker is worth his pay. Why would you expect someone to be in full time ministery and not recieve some kind of compenstation for it. The lights have to stay on, the rent has to be payed, the equipment has to be maintained, and a man needs to eat.

Its not a shool sight, its a sight for Bob Larson ministeries. But it is advertising ministry training at a place called DWJD. DWJD is not Bob Larson ministeries. But some of his ministery is offered at that school in the form of teaching a class that people pay to attend.

What is sickening to me is that so many of you would judge something so quickly, when you know very little about it. You need to look into the context of that page.

It's called taking pot shots out of jealousy and boredom. *LOL

oh come on Susan, which other ministry or evangelist do you want to highlight here and garner supporters to condemn -- isnt that your style and pattern here? The Hagins? The Copelands? Benny Hinn? Dennis Burke? Jesse Duplantis? Joyce Meyer? The whole TBN?

Tell me, did "God" call you to a ministry of condemnation? Wow, you must be really somebody to be the watchdog and authority!
