Please Help Me

Hi,
I am making love with my cousin. I have been doing this for 7 years now. I know is a sin and i am really struggling to quit, i have prayed and fasted but still it persists. I almost broke her vaginity yesterday but thank God i didn't. She lives with our grandmother while i live with my parents. Whenever i visit my gran mom, she will be begging to sleep for the night and whenever i do, we make love together. I really wanna change, i believe one day i will be caught and it would be disasterous for both of us. Please pray for me and advice me on what to do because i really need to stop this before it gets out of hand.

Bigmodo, you asked for help, so I approved your post.

I don't need to tell you that this is wrong. It is not just that you will be caught. You are also damaging both yourself and your cousin. You don't say how old she is, but if she is underage you could be in trouble with the law as well. Also, she could get pregnant, even if there is no penetration.

You can be helped. Your first step is to go to God and ask Him to forgive you and help you with this. God will forgive you, but you need to ask, 1 John 1:9.

Second, you need to practice 2 Timothy 2:22. It says, "Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart."

This means don't sleep at your grandmother's house anymore. Make no provision for the flesh.

Also, you need counseling, preferably a mentor who can help you through this.

You do not say how old you are.. I can only share what I know from my own struggles.

When I was a teenager, my older cousin coerced me into some sexual activity. We did not complete the sex act, but there was still sexual activity. The guilt and shame was horrible.

When I got older, I got involved in sexual sin. I did not understand the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the temptation.

My suggestion is to get a mature Christian man to mentor you. Be totally honest with this person. Get involved in a men's Bible study, and dig into the Word of God. Study 1 Corinthians chapter 6. Flee fornication.

Avoiding the "near occasion of sin" is essential but SOOO hard! Believe me, i know!

Seems he is somewhat willing too. If that is so, you will need to stop seeing her in situations where sexual behaviour is possible. It' s pretty much going to be cold turkey and a hard headed decision. Some information about ages would be helpful.

First off, pray and ask for strength. But you kind of have something in your favor already; she doesn't live with you. IOW, she's not physically around you everyday. You might want to either limit the visits to your grandmother's house, or the hours (evening, nighttime) that you visit. If you haven't done so already, let your cousin know about your convictions. She may get angry, but you have to do what's right.

You've basically been living like you're a couple, so now you're going to have to act like a single person. And one of the very first things that a single person misses is....well, you know. In times of weakness get on your knees and pray, pray, pray. It's gonna be difficult at first, but if you reap to Godly things, your flesh desires will start to subside. Hard to believe but it's true.
