A video showing how truly "progressive" liberals portray themselves as.

Are you serious? Have you ever seen any of the recent McCain/Palin campaign rallies? The booing whenever Obama's name comes up is actually one of the nicer things you hear there. Check out the videos posted throughout this thread.

Obviously both sides have their share of lunatics, and I don't agree with personal attacks on either side. But to me it seems the ugly stuff is disproportionally coming from the right wing. Again, check out the videos here. To pretend otherwise would be disingenuous - so far I haven't heard accusations of being a terrorist, or death threats ("kill him!") coming from the left.

Is this the type of attitude we want running our country?

Have you honestly not noticed that the people yelling mean things on the street are not the ones that will end up running the country? Do you really want to get into a quote war and, in the name of fairness, blame McCain/Palin for all the stupid things their supporters say? Unless, of course, you're not interested in fairness. That would explain a lot.

By the way, I noticed you have Christian icon in your profile. Does the phrase "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" mean anything to you?

Like the guy in the "Line to Nowhere" video who shouted, "they should pay double!" about Palin making Wasilla women pay for their own rape kits. That really made me want to cry. Even if he didn't mean that, what a horrible thing to say.

Either way, people really don't need to be protesting events. I didn't like seeing that people were protesting outside a McCain speaking engagement any more than I liked seeing McCain supporters protesting outside of an early voting precinct where a good majority of voters had just left an Obama rally.

People in mobs are like a pack of dogs, they do horrible things they wouldn't ordinarily do by themselves. Did you notice that whenever anyone was singled out to talk or justify what they shouted that they clamed right up? They are spineless, thats what attracts them to the mob in the first place. They don't really want to be seen that way, in that light. They just want to blend into a large crowd and abdicate all responsibility for anything that happens.

Michael Savage said it best, "liberalism is a mental disorder".

Last time I checked, making fun of women being raped and telling people to "die" for being "hippie socialists" wasn't a sure sign of mental stability. Of course, if it's true liberalism is a mental disorder I'd rather have that affliction than the stick up the bum that comes with being an uber-conservative. I could always take pills, but surgery frightens me.

Did you see the one where they booed McCAIN for saying Obama isn't a bad guy?

Liberals want anarchy.Structure comes with boundaries in a regulated moral standing. For which liberals say they don't care what you do out side of their lives and in society that has government and teachers of ideology points of views. You have to come to a place of common ground. Limited laws on morality is good, however; they are living in moral decay.

Really? I thought liberals want communist dicatorships whereby it's illegal to marry a person of the opposite sex, children are taught by reading Mao's works, and all TV and film must be hard to understand and contain graphic sex.

Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Castro, to name a few, did such a great job with their socialist countries. I am surprised all these excited progressives in New York haven't left the country long ago for redder pastures.

Someone doesn't know their history very well. To lump Hitler as a "socialist" along with Stalin, Mao and Castro shows incredible ignorance of modern history. There is a HUGE difference between the "socialism" of Nazi Germany and the socialism of Lenin/Marx of which Mao, Castro and Stalin are based upon.

National socialism was a capitalist society, unlike true socialism. National socialism didn't nationalise industries, like in true socialism. And national socialism is extreme right wing whilst true socialism is extreme left wing. In fact, Mao, Castro and Stalin are allies, whilst national socialism is the enemy of true socialism and vice versa. National socialism is fascism, and true socialsim is Communism. They are nothing like one another, and the politics of Hitler is totally different to the politics of Stalin.

I feel like an idiot having to type such basic facts of the politics of modern history. But apparently some people are clueless.

As far as Republicans and Democrats, that's a hard one for me. I'm glad I'm not in America, as I'm not sure which one I'd vote for, (and I would definately vote). I personally don't mind John McCain but I really, really dislike Sarah Palin. To me, she's a fundie nut job. Even that wouldn't bother me except that McCain has a long health history, and Palin could easily end up the President.

I personally really like Barack Obama but I'm not really sure on his position on abortion-something I don't agree with on demand.

Though I'm not American, I'm leaning towards an Obama victory. If Sarah Palin wasn't McCain's running mate, I'd prefer the Republicans winning. Oh well, all will be revealed....................

But showing a youtube video of "liberals" heckling pro Republican supporters is silly. Both sides have their hecklers. What does that video prove?

Those sorts of videos are mind-blowing to me. We are two weeks from our election here in NZ, and I think it would take me weeks of filming to collect even a small number of people as completely one-sided and negative as the people found in a single location in those videos.

It's so personal, so unbalanced. Seriously those people all just need to chill the hell out.

Abso-frackin-lutely... you would have a fit if you knew how many Americans asked me last time I was there, when I said I was Australian, either "what language do you speak there" or worse, "what state is that in". Seriously, there is this thing called "the rest of the world". American-centric world views are not only amazingly misinformed, but inherently dangerous.

Well, to be completely fair, I've listened to people speaking Strine for whom the question of "And do you also speak English?" might be a valid one!

Also, as explained to me by a doctrinaire Libertarian of my acquaintance, Libertarians are not anarchists; they want a minimalist government that carries out only "the necessary functions of government." (Which usually gets us into a debate about what functions are necessary.)

And my impression is that JCook is a Goldwaterian paleoconservative, supporting a strong military and moderately libertarian, which would inevitably put him at odds with the 'social conservatives' of quasi-fundamentalist bent that have hijacked the entire conservative movement of late.

Then enjoy the Palin winks.:p

Uh ... no... he can go to edit options - scroll down a bit and uncheck display signatures. Then he can ignore the excessive signature and still read the posts.

I thought it was liberTARIANS who wanted anarchy... liberal government parties like the democrats seem to want MORE laws and regulation
Democrats / liberals want more money, programs to their ideas on ideology in society like any law of Gods turn it on its head. That might as well have no constitution. Based on a creator that all have freewill.

Because feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and healing the sick are such anti-Christian values?
