You know, AV, your really proving my point. Just look at the comments being posted in respones to you. You dont seem to be winning that many people over to your religon. The more you fight evolution the more you push other away.
I rely on a major premise though ---
Isaiah 55:11 said:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Some sow, some water, but God gives the increase ---
1 Corinthians 3:7 said:
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Again your only proving my point. Simply quoting the bible is not going to hide you actions or lack of knowledge on this subject. People will see threw that.

“The wise sees knowledge and action as one; they see truly"
The Bhagavad Gita.

If you could just be more open minded maby you might not see sceinces as such a big threat.

“The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.”
The Bhagavad Gita.

Bible quotes are not going to have any effect on me. To prove my case from now on every time you use a bible quote in a debate to justify your actions or prove your case I will use a quote from the holy books of other religons to prove my point. (see the quotes above)By doing this I hope you will see just how useless it is to quote mine from holy writings in a debate on sciecnes or politics and maby start to see religon was ment for a deeper purpose then that.

Good --- it won't hide who I am, either --- a student of the Word; and in case you don't know me very well, let me clue you in on a secret: I don't need to quote the Bible to hide my lack of scientific knowledge. My lack of scientific knowledge is legend here.

That really nothing to be proud of AV.

I noticed that in Eastern religions, ignorance is seen as evil. Funny how Christian Fundamentalists see ignorance as holy.

Comes of conflating ignorance with being child-like, perhaps. In the new Testament there's a great deal of comparing following Christ with being a child, becoming like a little child, falling on Christ's bosom like a child, or like a young animal, a lamb, etc.

There's nothing wrong with being childlike, as long as you're not childish.

Never said there was. What I have noticed, though, is a historical tendency for the flock (by which I mean not the intelligentia of the church, but the general congregations) to regard knowledge, both secular and spiritual, as somewhat dangerous, to be handled only by 'experts'. And given a whole lot of preaching over the past few centuries emphasized both being childlike in one's faith and not thinking too hard for oneself (leads to heresies too often), that is not too surprising, and may lead to people equating childlike ( and therefore spiritually pure) with lacking knowledge, or ignorance.

I saw this very particularly in both my mother's and my grandmothers' generations of women, most strongly on the Evangelist side of the family. As a rule, too much knowledge struck them as somehow suspect, religiously speaking. Part of that effect certainly was derived from the age-old deliberate barring of women from the pulpit, and therefore from being encouraged to study their own theology, or indeed anything to any depth beyond practical home application. But there was also transference to men below the status of clergy.

My mother, by no means an unintelligent woman, and probably as devout as anyone I've ever known, has retained that childlike quality, refrained from learning much about anything other than wildflowers and birds, and to this day, despite her hope of meeting my father in heaven is afraid to read Revelations; in fact has never read more than a few words of it.

You should read "Billy Budd," by Melville. If you are an adult, then no, being "child-like" is not necessarily a good thing. Ignorance is not something we should all aspire to. Of course, we have seen plenty of "Childish" behavior from creationists here as well.
