If using Windows XP [?] Run the WINDOWS MALICIOUS SOFTWARE REMOVAL TOOL

This, from Windows Update
On the front page and in left pane CHOOSE > Administrator Options
In the text on main page click text-link to Search the Microsoft Download Centre
Click the RUN ACTIVE X control.... This verifies your PC's GENUINE Operating System

If you see the SILVERLIGHT download screen overlay your page
SELECT 'not at this time'

Find in the text on main pane under New Downloads
and CLICK on, Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool

DOWNLOAD the program by RUNNING from the windows site
This program, will detect NASTIES and REMOVE THEM from your Windows
However if, this PROBLEM is in a non-windows application
You will need to find a 'freebie' to detect and remove/ quarantine the Baddie


I use WINDOWS DEFENDER....
but I have ALLOWED third party software to install via DEFENDER's permissions list
only to find that I have also received a TROJAN
Administrator's BEWARE.... be sure! that you trust the downloading site

My work schedule takes me to thee different locations now and at 2 of them I can get on the forum. The other one is the main office and I can't there.

You lost me on it, Dave, already! I'm fairly computer illiterate! My husband, however, does computer support for an architecture firm. He's a real geek! He's knows what to do. I'm just don't know if he'll have time to do it this week-end. He got some stuff to "fix it" apparently.

He thinks it occurred because I tried to download some free "wallpaper." It downloaded a bunch of other junk on the computer and apparently a virus! I should have known better than to download from an unfamiliar site!!

Oh No Kay, I hope you got your computer fixed.

Yep I know HOW it happens

A sister invited me to view her MySpace

to do this I had to 'register/ join'
and it was upon loading software to PIMP up my Space
that I myself, pulled some Trojans into my PC

He's almost got it fixed. I am currently on the little laptop he has. I was going into withdrawal!

yep, that's how it happened with me...

That's how I felt at work on Monday and Tuesday. Not that I wanted to work but I couldn't get on CF. What a bummer

Happy Friday!!!

It's going to be a beautiful weekend and our last at the lake for the year! We will be moved into our winter home by next weekend. I'm looking forward to enjoying the lake, maybe taking a hike or two and just relaxing.
