All I can think of is when my father died - I was halfway around the world, unable to even make it to the funeral. I told my priest at confession, and after the service the choir came out and they sang a "Litiya" (the parts from the Panakhida that may be sung for non-Orthodox Christians (he was a lapsed Catholic). When they sang "Vechnaya Pamyat'" (Memory Eternal) the tears just started streaming down my face. I never imagined that that was how I would say goodbye to my father.
