My computer died a few weeks ago :sigh: and I had to purchase a new one, then Ike came and went and took our phone/cable/electricity with it (It was really weird for us, because there wasn't any rain or thunder (we usually get rain from the hurricanes down south)), just wind and falling trees :swoon:. It's really bizarre watching trees just topple over when there's no rain or anything. )

How is everyone else faring?

Speaking of rain and wind, I have a typhoon bearing down on me. It'll hit tomorrow afternoon. I'm in a pretty good place. Mountains break up a good chunk of the wind and I'm on high ground. I'm worried about power though. The power grid here took a beating from a large number of lighting strikes this summer.

That is another good reason to go to Hawaii.

They rarely have typhoons (hurricanes are the same thing).

Oh a few harmless water spouts have been spotted from Honolulu out in the ocean. That's minor.

About the only thing Hawaii is rightly concerned about are the tsunamis. They have evacuation notices posted and most people do not live near the shore lines like they do in the land of the nuts, flakes, and fruits (California). The Hawaiians are very smart in that most people do not live in the areas near the active volcanoes due to the chance of a lava flow and the vog that is in the air.
