Actually you are referring to the microwave radiation. Visible Light and microwaves are all electromagnetic waves.

From NASA website:
Today, the CMB radiation is very cold, only 2.725° above absolute zero, thus this radiation shines primarily in the microwave portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, and is invisible to the naked eye. However, it fills the universe and can be detected everywhere we look. In fact, if we could see microwaves, the entire sky would glow with a brightness that was astonishingly uniform in every direction. The picture at left shows a false color depiction of the temperature (brightness) of the CMB over the full sky (projected onto an oval, similar to a map of the Earth). The temperature is uniform to better than one part in a thousand! This uniformity is one compelling reason to interpret the radiation as remnant heat from the Big Bang; it would be very difficult to imagine a local source of radiation that was this uniform. In fact, many scientists have tried to devise alternative explanations for the source of this radiation but none have succeeded.

OK, after reading through this thread you guys got me curious, so I logged on to Rapture Ready, but darned if I can find a forum board or how one registers to post on it.

It is probably something simple I am missing, but I wanted to read some of the discussions over there just to form my own impressions. Help?

Then stop all those missionaries! If you die without hearing the word of God so don't go to hell then missionaries are bad idea. Think of all the people who wouldn't be in hell right now if missionaries hadn't told them about Christianity.

Also, if dying without hearing the word of God means you don't go to hell then surely the best thing to do is to kill all newborn babies? That way they won't accidentally hear the word of God and won't be in any danger of going to hell. Ok, so we'd probably go to hell for all that murdering but it's a small price to pay for saving an entire generation from going to hell, yes?

...but for those who have heard His word and have heard about His Son, if you reject to follow God you are a following the only alternative... Satan. Atheism sadly is a form of following Satan whether you want to willfully believe you're following him or not, you're saying his truth is more valid than God's truth. Satan has brainwashed so many people, people believe that not following/believing God isn't rejecting Him.

BTW, you saying you refuse to believe God would send billions of people to hell is saying his word is wrong, in other words, you're claiming God to be a liar. You already know who else thinks God is the liar....

I put it to you that it is, in fact, you who are unwittingly in league with Satan. Since it is you, in your intolerance, who has set your self up in opposition to everyone else. And it's you he talks to.

Personally I'm not in opposition to anything much. Live and let live, I say. Unless it can be shown (with actual evidence) that not opposing whatever it is would be harmful to others.

I've done some reading at RR. I can't even bring myself to mock those people. Their lives are mostly full of depression and fear, or a crazed version of 'joy' that sets their families wondering if they are off their rockers.

There was a guy over there who wasn't going to bother getting wood for heating his house this winter, because he 'felt' the Rapture was that close. He has a wife and kids who were getting understandably anxious about it. Several discouraged their children from attending college, or decided not to further their own education because the Rapture will happen soon. Some delay marriage, or having children, over this deluded theology.

They see demons or demonic influences everywhere. They thought the images and pageantry of the Olympic opening events were demon-inspired. They are always leaving their various churches because they fear minor points of theology will doom them to hell. They eagerly examine every natural disaster for signs of the post Rapture Tribulations, and speculate on who might be the Anti-Christ. They think Barack Obama is Evil.

Most of them are not very educated or well informed. Many were totally surprised to discover that their messages could be read by anybody, and were in fact a regular source of amusement at FSTDT.

I just find myself feeling sorry for them; they are wasting their lives over a fantasy.

I've done lots of reading at many different places.

One thing that I have found nearly always true, agnostics are very talented and adept at expressing themselves with all manner of cursing, and are mostly depressed and lash out at the Lord for their general angst.

The Lord can take it, He is patient with us humans, not willing that any perish and that all come to the knowledge of the truth.

Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ friend, "change your mind" (repent) over how you view life, death, sin, mercy and justice. In other words, read and receive what the Lord says to you in His word. He in turn will give you life, else all that you think you have now will be taken from you. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry with you.

Just some general thoughts friend, I truly hope that you don't harden your heart towards God, and you read is word and believe.

Well, when y'think about it, no evolutionary step or mutation within a gene pool is 'good' or 'bad'; things always happen for a reason, and whatever the reason, I can only fathom was what was 'supposed' to happen.
