Charles,
Indeed the Book of Jasher is an ancient Jewish book. However, what you fail to acknowledge is that the stories within it, such as Nimrod trying to kill Avraham Avinu, etc. are exactly the stories preserved by Jewish oral tradition and later on recorded in the Talmud. That's no news for us, Charles, we know of all that from the Talmud. Why do we need a "lost book" to tell us what the Talmud has been teaching us for millennia?
Your bias against the Talmud is blinding you and keeping you from seeing what has been there for ages...

From Sefer HaYasher referred to in two places in the Tanakh. Chap 3
1 And Chanoch lived sixty-five years and he begat Metushelach; and
Chanoch walked with Elohim after having begot Metushelach, and he
served YHWH, and despised the evil ways of the sons of men12.
2 And the soul of Chanoch was wrapped up in the instruction of YHWH,
in knowledge and in understanding; and he knew the ways of YHWH,
and he wisely retired from the sons of men, and secreted himself from
them for many days.
3 And it was at the end of many days and years, while he was serving
before YHWH, and praying before YHWH in [his] house and in [his]
chamber, that an angel of YHWH called to him from Heaven saying:and he led them in the ways of the YHWH
Chanoch, Chanoch, and he said, Here am I.
4 And he said, Rise, go forth from your house and from your hiding
place, and rule over all the sons of men, in order that you may teach
them the way in which they should go and the work which they must do
to go in the ways of YHWH.
5 And Chanoch rose up according to the word of YHWH, and went forth
from his house, from his place and from the chamber in which he was
concealed; and he went to the sons of men and taught them the ways of
YHWH, and at that time assembled the sons of men and acquainted them
with the instruction of the YHWH.
6 And he ordered it to be proclaimed in all places of the sons of men,
saying, Who is the man who wishes to know the ways of YHWH and
good works? let him come to Chanoch.
7 And all the sons of men then assembled to him, for all who desired this
thing went to Chanoch, and Chanoch reigned over the sons of men
according to the word of YHWH, and they came and bowed to him and
they heard his word.
8 And the spirit of Elohim was upon Chanoch, and he taught all his men
the wisdom of Elohim and his ways, and the sons of men served YHWH
all the days of Chanoch, and the sons of men came to hear his wisdom.
9 And also all the kings of the sons of men, the first and the last, and
their princes and their judges, came to Chanoch when they heard of his
wisdom, and they bowed down to him, and they also required of
Chanoch to reign over them, and he consented to this thing.
10 And they assembled in all, one hundred and thirty kings and princes,
and they made Chanoch king over them and they were all under his
power and under his word.
11 And Chanoch taught them wisdom and knowledge and the way of
YHWH; and he made peace among them all, and peace was throughout
the earth in the days of Chanoch.
12 And Chanoch reigned over all the sons of men two hundred and
forty-three years, and he did justice and righteousness to all his people,
